Certainly it does. Card in hand, number in head... Forever. You couldn’t forget it if you wanted to.

Well, let’s look at the verses in question, instead of your erroneous summary of them, shall we?:

“16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”

Revelation 13:16-18

Now, contrary to your assertion, the text says nothing about a card, rather, it talks about a “mark”. The text says that “he” (the beast) causes all people to receive this mark, in their head OR their hand (not both). Verse 17 tells us that people are unable to buy or sell unless they have this mark OR the number or name of the beast. This seems to imply that the mark and number/name of the beast are interchangeable, perhaps because they are the same, or perhaps because they fulfill the same function.

Now, none of this fits your theory. As I already pointed out, social security numbers are only issued to US residents, and you are not required to have them, nor are your required to have one in order to buy or sell. The mark, on the other hand, applies to everyone in the world, and you are required to have one, and required to have one in order to buy or sell.
