Everything Ted Cruz says and does is scripTED. No one is more rehearsed and scripted than Ted. Trump is the most unscripted and unfiltered.
People on this forum who support Trump may be many things, but the one absolute thing they are not is “a conservative”.
At best, Trump is a Moderate Democrat/Republican and he will run as a moderate/liberal in the general election and you will wonder what happened to the person you thought he was.
