The mistake you are making is the same every one of these "Trumpsters" are making. Just because he said he would build a wall, they all fell in love and are blinded with scales over their eyes. Mr. Icahn has hosted fundraising parties and given relatively small amounts to Republican candidates in recent years. He also has donated to Democratic New York Senator Charles Schumer and Hillary Clinton. Mr. Icahn said that $2,000 donation to Mrs. Clinton in 2004 was largely because a friend asked him to do it. Who told him to give to the scores of other Dems? People have made some sort of negative connection with Cruz and Goldman Sachs, but you don't get anymore "Wall Street" than Icahn and his friends.
