I support Cruz but agree with your statement. However, social issues (character) counts and - Trump is big government when it comes to education and health care.

Trump is a very recent convert to conservatism in some areas - and that concerns me.

I very much like Trumps outspokenness on illegals and muslims.

However, statements like the one above that Trump is more conservative than Cruz are seriously ignorant.

Trump’s lack of a track record concerns me and lack of morals concerns me (Casino’s are probably the sleaziest legal businesses in most states). His lack of emotional maturity bothers me. I don’t think he is particularly bright. Oddly, on the flip side, he is very good at dealing with people and manipulating opinion. So while he makes me cringe at times he has strong leadership skills.

Cruz’ wife concerns me a bit. Cruz is a rock solid constitution conservative. He is generally brilliant in debate. However, he doesn’t smile enough and he strikes many people as false. Based on conversations I have had with people who know him that appears to be more the camera than reality - but in an election - perception is reality.

I think Trump has a better chance of winning the general than Cruz.

I think Cruz has a better chance of winning the nomination than Trump because Cruz understands that most states do not pick delegates based on popular vote - a crappy system but a pre-existing reality. How could Trump not pay attention to that?

But - it is refreshing to actually share information on the candidates with someone as apposed to shallow posts going back and forth that sound like something out of first grade.

How does getting rid of Common Core and returning education back to the states mean he is big government? Healthcare? He will kill Obamacare and work towards letting insurance companies sell across state lines, thereby lowering the cost of healthcare, making it available to more people.
I suggest you read Trump’s position pages.

However civil our conversation has been, I have to disagree strongly with a couple of points you made. Trump is NOT for socialized medicine or big government. I think you have been listening to way too many of someone’s twisting of the truth. His healthcare program is outlined on his webpage.

Trump very much understands how the delegate system works. He also understands that it isn’t nice to run a dirty campaign. He knew what was going on in CO and WY, and therefore, didn’t waste his money there. Politicians love to spend, spend, spend - because it isn’t their money. Trump is very frugal which is also a conservative trait.

I hate to burst your bubble, but, Cruz is NOT going to win the nomination,

For someone who isn’t very bright, Trump has amassed a $10 billion dollar empire, unlike Cruz who has eaten at the government trough since he got out of law school. Book smarts do NOT equate intelligence - far from it. Common sensse is much more valuable, and Trump is very intelligent. You should listen to his testimonies in front of Congress. He knows what he is doing, and is outsmarting most - just as he knocked out all the other candidates - that’s pretty smart, in my book. Sounds like you might be an elitists - Cruz might be smarter in law, but, he lacks good sound judgment - such as when he called from Trump to fire his campaign manager over something that didn’t happen, and when he sided with the thugs in Chicago against Trump. Sorry, but, it’s quite possible that the infidelity by Cruz is true - however, it sure took him long enough to disavow it - and he had to have Fiorina be his mommy, he hid behind her skirts.

Once again, I hate to burst your bubble, but, Ted might be able to quote the Constitution, but, he doesn’t believe in it - only when it suits his purposes. He isn’t, by his own admission eligible to be POTUS. He also as I said earlier, sided with the thugs who took away Trump and his supporters free speech.

I think you should do some deeper research on your candidate - he is a fr4aud. I’m also well aware of Trump’s faults, he doesn’t hide them - unlike Cruz who has his records sealed. Regardless of what people say, they should always be judged by their actions, and Ted was dishonest and dirty with Dr. Carson in Iowa. If those things don’t bother you, then you, like many others, are hopeless, and will believe any thing a smarmy, fast-talking, lawyer politician tells you.
