I’m arguing on the side of slavery being a moral wrong. What is it you are arguing?
Also, the Civil War was like most wars, fought by the poor to benefit the rich.
I love my South, but I can’t gee haw with the depth of degradation that slavery wrought and act like it was all about states right.
When the state believes it has the right to do what was done to other human beings, as what was done to slaves, then the state is wrong.
“Im arguing on the side of slavery being a moral wrong. What is it you are arguing?”
I want to see how consistent you are in your moralizing.
George Washington was one of the largest slave owners of his time. You have been equating slave owning with Nazism. I want to know if you are willing to label Washington a proto-Nazi.
“Also, the Civil War was like most wars, fought by the poor to benefit the rich.”
That was certainly the opinion of Marx and Engels. Their Civil War commentary reads like today’s neo-abolitionists.
Pelly is a neo-confederate. From his commentary one can't help but deduce that they could do no wrong, and he'll split any (and every) hair necessary to rationalize his POV.
Fortunately, your POV is prevalent among Americans and his is the outlier.
