How much are you willing to pay for a car?
I don’t like it because it’s a fairy tale.
There are people in that city that believe it is true. As mentioned above it is uneconomical. Those days are past.
I hear you but consider this...a smaller tax base here at home due to the loss of manufacturing means your share of the tax bill increases. If the plant in your area closes your property taxes are going up to cover the difference, the local movie theater shuts its doors and maybe your favorite restaurant moves away.
Foreign factory workers don't spend their paychecks on Main Street and they don't pay taxes to fix US roads, support our schools and hospitals either.
The fact you saved a couple of hundred dollars on a car is really just a drop in the bucket compared to the numerous ways you end up paying for this anemic hollowed out economy.
