Having spent my formative years involved with the sea, I would be concerned that the ship will become known as an unlucky ship. There are so many superstitions surrounding a ship, that moving the christening site to a new location might bestow bad luck on the ship and the crew. Sort of like renaming a ship after it has already been named.

Wow, “the South” (CSA) should’ve used this principle to its advantage. Could’ve avoided the Civil War altogether.
Maybe just by passing such bigoted laws like fag-prevention, the Federals would’ve pulled out of Ft. Sumter on their own because they didn’t want to “support meanness” by being in the same place.
Maybe it would work much better now. Maybe this is how we can get our separate new nation - the US will just pull out, being so offended.

They already did that in the early 60s. They buried a whole lot of radioactive waste outside of Hattiesburg. They did it because of segregation.
He was governor of Mississippi when I was a teenager. He had some nicknames that rhymed with his name. I have had a picture in my head of him dressed in drag. It is approaching time to ship anyone on the Executive Schedule since January 21, 2009 to Leavenworth. Add to that anyone currently O-7 and above.
