RedState ^ | 4/13/2016 | Dan Spencer

Posted on 04/13/2016 8:35:00 PM PDT by 5thGenTexan

While speaking to a crowd and referring to notes in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Trump strangely asked how’s Joe Paterno? And even mentioned bringing him back.

This shows the inportance of objective factual data in the database before conclusions are made. It’s part of how to have an accurate big picture view of things.

RedState, eh? RedState, meaning you have to assume they lie and have to check everything they put out.

So Donald Trump knows Joe is dead but Joe’s SPIRIT is still alive. The memory of Paterno still lives in the minds and hearts pf Pennsylvanians. He’s a historic icon that symbolizes a drive to succeed. A drive to succeed is a large part of Donald Trump’s message.

Here’s what Donald said Exactly:

“I know a lot about Pennsylvania, and it’s great. How’s Joe Paterno? We’re gonna bring that back? Right?...How ‘bout that whole deal?”

Now look carefully at the words. “We’re gonna bring THAT back? ... THAT whole deal?” The word THAT means something different than HE or HIM.

Trump preceded the Paterno comment with “In America there have been few places that have been more devastated economically by our trade policies than Pittsburgh. We know that, we know what’s happened. Don’t worry we’ew bringing it all BACK! Don’t worry about it Ok? Don’t worry!”

Trump goes on to talk about how Pittsburgh has lost enormous numbers of jobs to offshoring but he assures the crowd that it’s all coming BACK. Just as Paterno’s spirit will be brought back into the population, a spirit that would not tolerate anything less than winning. The crowd knew exactly what Trump was talking about.

Trump knows what he’s doing. Once again the scumbag morons in the media are going to be reporting this blurb every 15 minutes from now to Sunday, and once again Trump will dominate the news cycle as he gets in front of the cameras and explains that the Spirit of Paterno is still alive and well in PA.

I agree, there are more important things, especially about the dems. One thing I know though is this, if the Penn state fans feel that Donald in any way was referring to the person and not the statue he is done for in PA.

Meh, who cares?

Everyone else in the race is an anti-American globalist. I’d literally vote for an actual rodent before considering any of the others.

I’m NOT checking Red State, but I TIVO’d Hannity’s show. I’ll get around to watching it again later tonight but I’m busy right now watching something else I TIVO’d.

Who said it was supposed to be a joke?

You’re right. It’s really a big deal. He’s going to lose Pennsylvania because of this mention. In fact, he’s going to lose the whole rest of the NE. /s

Feel better now? You seem quite concerned about Trump’s plight.

Paterno died back in 2012, right after The (Sandusky)Troubles.
I think the enormity of the disgrace brought on the school acted to overwhelm Joe, who was already up in age. It was like a dam that broke, with Niagra spilling out, bleeding out.

Realize it is unfamiliar to Cruzers, but Trump often uses humor in his rally talks. Don’t worry about it.

Good point!

I heard him live and it was clear he meant bring Joe back---in the sense of rehabilitating his reputation, bring him back onto the campus nominally, where Joe Pa's statue was removed, where buildings with his name on them were renamed, etc. Most Penn Staters would argue Joe Pa was not involved in the scandal and was unfairly treated, leading to his death, which everyone, incl Trump, knows. That's what he meant when he said bring him back, and how about that deal. That DEAL was the painting of Paterno with the broadbrush of scandal he claimed, and others claimed, he was not cognizant of at all. PS I am not a Penn State fan or within a thousand miles of it. People who know sports, as Trump has more than just a passing interest, would perfectly understand what Trump meant.

Pansy snowflakes collecting their vig from Cruz superpacs are scared of football, men, and titillated by the facts of the scandal, and played tea parties with the girls inside while normal boys were playing ball in the sandlot 'til sundown.

Nice retort, but it has nothing to do with your original assertion.

Trump was referring to the statue of Joe Paterno that was removed after his death.

The media morons are swimming around DT’s net again and will be drawn in to flop on the deck.

And then people will remember Paterno and they will be reminded if not informed how his statue was taken down for political correctness.

I see another master play here.

And some imp like person is calling Alzheimers because his dad had it. I wonder if the imp knows that Alzheimers runs in families? As in genetic, hmmm? Wish him/her well but he/she’s not exactly ‘all there’ so it appears. He should get him/herself checked. Good news is there is progress in that disease field.

A person is a him. A statue is a that.
“Should we bring that back?”
Just reporting what I heard him say.
I loved Penn State football, would like to hear Old Joe’s up and around.

Didn’t see it but pretty sure he was talking about the statue not the man...anyone local would get that instantly.

Except they didn’t vote in Colorado. No straw poll was taken so they could have these shenanigans at the state party convention. If they took the straw poll, the delegates would have been previously bound.

And he always supported protecting the child molester

Joe Paterno's family should sue the idiots @PennState that made that ridiculous deal--and commissioned the one sided report 11:24 AM - 4 Sep 2012

Another one was that David Duke thing. He knew who a Duke was. The day before he’d denounced him. Then the next day he didn’t know who he was.

Saying the same thing over and over is consistent as well.

no, I honestly don’t understand your question. it sounds like you either want a list of dead people, or a list of trump supporters.

not sure I can help you there.
