Amanda Carpenter, former communications director for Sen. Ted Cruz (CR97%) and one of his alleged mistresses claims, “I had a purely professional relationship with Senator Cruz.”
In an in interview with with CNN’s Jake Tapper on “The Lead” on Tuesday, Carpenter said, “I’m stuck in this box where I am forced to try to defend every smear that comes after me, my husband, my children, online or suffer in silence.”
Tapper asked Carpenter, “Have you had ever any sort of intimate relationship with Senator Cruz, Anything at all? Anything that could be considered inappropriate?”
Carpenter, who is now a CNN political commentator replied, “No, I had a purely professional relationship with Senator Cruz. And I want too go further than that. I have been 100 percent faithful to my husband. There’s nothing more important to me than being a good wife and a good mother and it’s been very hard the past few days to have my character called into question and watch this blow back on them. So thank you for having me here to talk about it. And I hope no one else has to go through this.”

We all know that. Hell, I have friends in Finland. In fact, we, our Army, had several of Finland’s most heroic WWII fighters in our Special Forces. Vague posts about your superior knowledge are not particularly informative or convincing.
The folks making the argument that Amanda Carpenter was his mistress are putting forward some objective information and then drawing conclusions from this circumstantial evidence. Not proof but it sure looks kind of hard to explain as innocent actions of married man who is supposed to be very bright.
The folks defending Cruz are using invective and any sort of disingenuous method to avoid responding to the issues raised. Indeed one could say they are deliberately attempting to insult those on the other side of the fence to avoid dealing with the real issue of: are these charges true?
For example not one of the Cruz defenders has dealt with the far more damaging issue of the 500,000 dollar payment to Carla’s PAC, and Its subsequent payments to the supposed mistress.
Not to say Cruz is guilty and he should be given the benefit of the doubt, but his defenders are not doing him any good.
Doesn't have to be a photo of support. Any kind of veifiable social media source, stating, "Yeah, I was there with the whole group and that's what happened."

I was watching the Hannity show last April 1st when Cruz sprung the joke tattoo on Hannity...Hanity fell for it and his stunned reaction was priceless.
It was funny, harmless fun and contrasts markedly with the dishonesty and vicious nastiness of the Trump people misuse of that humorous fake tattoo.
