Amanda Carpenter, former communications director for Sen. Ted Cruz (CR97%) and one of his alleged mistresses claims, “I had a purely professional relationship with Senator Cruz.”

In an in interview with with CNN’s Jake Tapper on “The Lead” on Tuesday, Carpenter said, “I’m stuck in this box where I am forced to try to defend every smear that comes after me, my husband, my children, online or suffer in silence.”

Tapper asked Carpenter, “Have you had ever any sort of intimate relationship with Senator Cruz, Anything at all? Anything that could be considered inappropriate?”

Carpenter, who is now a CNN political commentator replied, “No, I had a purely professional relationship with Senator Cruz. And I want too go further than that. I have been 100 percent faithful to my husband. There’s nothing more important to me than being a good wife and a good mother and it’s been very hard the past few days to have my character called into question and watch this blow back on them. So thank you for having me here to talk about it. And I hope no one else has to go through this.”

"I hope every single one, or one of your family members, gets accussed at some point in your lives of doing something you didn’t do and have to try to defend yourself. You will all fail miserabl and that will be a good thing."

Whatever happens we will all be able to spell "accused" and "miserable". And that's a good thing. Bwahahahaha.

Fail. I listened to the interview and she changed the subject when Tapper asked about the jacket. A FReeper has an enlarged photo and you can see the large lapels and the pinstriping in the dark suit jacket. And they enlarged the dress photo from and it very clearly does not match. Not even close.

The jacket belongs to a man.

If he has had an affair and his wife has forgiven him and he has asked God to forgive him, why does it need to be made public? Why do his young kids have to have their parents trashed and this information exposed to them?

Amanda Carpenters denial was a good one. At least she addressed the issue head on.

If she is found to be lying, the repercussions are basically nonexistent. So she can say what ever she wants to contradict all the embarrassing stuff that she has now erased from twitter. Cruz is in a little more delicate position. He needs to make statements that allow him to pivot to a different defense when more stuff starts coming out.

The Enquirer generally starts with a teaser which is very light on facts then trickles tidbits out over many issues. By dragging this into the public eye Ted has now assured that tomorrow's issue will be a big seller.

It seems likely that the next big development will be the attorney releasing the rest of the “D.C. Madam” phone list. Either that or the attorney will be found to have committed suicide by hanging himself or blowing up his own car.

...Cruz fans Shift your narrative.

That would require that they be considerably lower on the Cruzberger's scale than they are. Screamin, jumpin, batcrap nuts.

So what the hell is wrong with your own two eyes? The jacket sleeves are as clear as day half sleeves. Does Ted Cruz wear suit jackets with half sleeves. Look at the size of the sleeve, a small women’s sleeve for a small arm. This is so brainless that anyone would think that was a men’s jacket.

According to mentally retarded people, a man and a woman cannot be friends. Which is so pathetically leftist and perverted, it blows my mind. And to have FReepers believe it. Sad.

Agree.

Living in different cities thousands of miles apart is very difficult on any marriage. That is how they began their married life.

Not at all. The Cruz people coordinated with Amanda Carpenter on an April Fool’s joke?

Did you see that picture of Heidi on stage standing behind the swordsmith, Teddy? She looked like a Dickens character growing visibly smaller as she was about to ask for another bowl of gruel. Think she was in on the joke?

It strikes me as really odd that they both had Churchill, and it also strikes me odd that the media and the candidate coordinated an early morning rendezvous to do a tattoo session.

Some other explanation would be easier to believe.

I already saw the analysis on the larger picture Saturday, and trust that the group got it right. I concur. The sleeves are bunched up. Get glasses.

Or, if you want to stand-by-your-man, I would claim you know it’s some other dude’s jacket. Maybe it’s her brother’s jacket, right? Fake pic. Fake tweet. Whatever works for you. “: ))

Even if it was Ted’s, it proves nothing. Maybe he just lent it to her at 3AM. It’s all good with me, not my lifestyle.

I don’t know maybe because he’s running for President and the voters would like to decide if he’s a guy they want to vote for or not. And because if he doesn’t do something this is going to hang over his head and destroy his campaign.

That’s what bugs me the most about this generation. Every thought that pops in their head has to be mentioned. Every bite they take and every movement has to be documented with a picture posted online.
It’s ridiculous.

There is no way in hell removing at most an inch or two of bunching out extends the sleeve out 6 inches, unless you are a graduate of a Common Core schooling.

With Bill there were hundreds of witnesses including the state police guards he had as governor. There are no witnesses with Ted, because I don’t believe it happened

Correction: We didn't know of any witnesses until the American Spectator published the results of their investigations. At that time Clinton had been governor for longer than Ted Cruz has been a senator. Yet it took an obscure conservative magazine to publish the truth.

Are you referring to the Sound of Music lyrics? Dated in April?

Those just popped up. I saw them here, last night, on one of the numerous scandal threads. The major dissection was over the weekend. 750+ long threads.

In DC eating fancy cheese and getting prime minister tattoos at 3am in a hotel room IS PURELY PROFESSIONAL. Hey, so is the sex. Actually, steamy, cheating sex IS NOT INAPPROPRIATE SOCIALLY when you are with someone else’s spouse in a hotel room at 3 am. Sex is commonly called for etiquette in such a social situation. In fact, it’s de rigeur.
