I don’t know if Cruz had affairs or not. I don’t really care but then again what has that to do with whether or not he’d be a good president?

Btw, I’m voting for Trump. But I don’t like that sort of tactic. Let’s stick to the issues, man. Also, I’m not of the belief Trump released this info. Didn’t the Enquirer? Paper selling stuff and I think it’s beneath everyone.

Character matters along with “issues”. I’d say that IF a presidential candidate has had many outside sexual escapades (ie more than for instance, one girl friend/whatever) this denotes a grave character flaw, evidence of extremely poor judgement and impulse control, tendency to use and possibly abuse other people especially if any were in his employ - just a few off the top of my head. There are rumors of prostitutes as well.

People say “Well, Trump admits he had extra marital affairs and girlfriends” - I have heard of extra marital, and he has said he was a “man about town” and had various affairs. Definitely not palatable. But he admits it - whatever ill behavior he engaged in was (a) admitted, not lied about and (b) in the past.

It would be nice if both of them had none of this type of behavior. But being a 100% faithful husband of one wife as a sole arbiter of presidential material means Jimmy Carter was an excellent president.

The news (such as it has been so far) about Cruz’ alleged sexual profligacy is relevant because it indicates his character, honesty and trustworthiness, and how he will handle intense situations under fire.

Then - there’s the $500,000 to Fiorina’s SuperPAC and why, and other related actions in connection with the alleged sexual improprieties. And who knows what else. I am reasonably certain that if any of the alleged stuff is factual, we will know in the next week or so. People DO know, if there is truth to all this, and it will come out, if true.

Oh - one more point. People with wrongdoing they are hiding are ALWAYS subject to blackmail. Without exception. That means they are OWNED.

Didn’t the Enquirer?

Yep. The CEO of the media group that owns the National Enquirer is a long term buddy of Donald Trump. It doesn't matter if the story is true, it will be in supermarket checkout aisles all over, and the allegation alone is enough to do damage.

Truth isn't necessary, only damage. Stinking gossips.

Marital infidelity is certainly news, and relevant, if it is committed by somebody who claims to be devoutly religious, because, at the very least it would be a demonstration of rank hypocrisy.

At least in Donald Trump's case, he has long ago admitted his mistakes and moved on. It's old news, in essence. I doubt very much if he's proud of his prior unfaithfulness.

Ted Cruz was given a golden opportunity today, at least to categorically state that he has been totally faithful to his wife, and yet instead he again deflected for no reason that I can fathom.

And Ted Cruz's submissive and passive demeanor today, wherein he let "Mama Carly" commandeer a question addressed to himself, was extremely awkward, and made Cruz look very weak. Extremely bad optics.

Furthermore, the reporter was basically begging Cruz to make a clear and concise statement to clear up the whole matter; but instead it was total deflection by both Cruz and Mama Carly.

Donald Trump has become a catch-all boogeyman for the Cruz campaign, which literally can't string 2 sentences together without demonstrating their total obsession with Trump, who, apparently, is single-handedly responsible for every woe that hits the Cruz campaign.

It looks absolutely pathetic and desperate, especially since everybody knows that it was the Rubio campaign that was trying to give this story legs weeks ago, and whose perpetrators have been deleting Tweets in an effort to scour the record and cover their tracks.

Additionally, the entire media corps has been aware of these Cruz stories for months and months, so it's obvious that Trump isn't the genesis of this.

Furthermore, there's this curious transfer of $500,000 from a Cruz superPAC to a Fiorina superPAC, which seemingly coincides with the employment of one of Cruz's alleged mistresses, Sarah Isgur Flores, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm not aware of any explanation that has been given for that payment. It sure seems odd.

DeflecTED...

If you're not who you say you are, then how do I know who I'm voting for? How do I know you're not going to be blackmailed or coerced into doing something against your "beliefs"?

More a matter of trust from the guy who told us he was the most hard core Christian out there as part of his campaign. I'd still vote for him if he got the nomination but would be pissed about it and even how he went about getting that nomination - once the slime starts splattering on one, it's hard to get really clean again.

When the dust settles the issue won’t be about sex, it will be about who got paid to hide the sex and where that money came from

Always follow the money

Especially when it’s political money
