2. Rubio drops out, Detectives shop around and NE is willing to pay for what they have.
3. NE goes ahead despite Gawker getting destroyed in court.
To say all of this happened without any hard evidence is absurd.

Where is the evidence? There is a marked difference in the way NE reported this and, for instance, the Edwards scandal.
No one would report on “the Thing” because of a lack of evidence.
