A Trump nomination will be disastrous for the Republican Party. Thats because he wont win against Hillary Clinton, despite her email and Benghazi scandals.
The only way to stop Donald Trump is for the Republicans to unite behind Ted Cruz. John Kasich has no chance winning the nomination. A vote for him is effectively a vote for Trump. Even if the convention is deadlocked with nobody getting 1,237 delegates, it is ridiculous for Kasich to win the nomination.
He is fourth in the delegate count behind Trump, Cruz and Rubio. If he is somehow nominated, the Trump and Cruz supporters will be very angry and wont show up at the voting booth, come November.
So why is Kasich staying on when he is trailing the delegate count behind Marco Rubio who has dropped out? One possibility is that he is delusional. Or perhaps, he is hoping either Trump or Cruz will offer him the Vice President slot. Kasich splits the anti-Trump votes. So a vote for Kasich is effectively a vote for Trump. A vote for Trump is effectively a vote for Clinton.
In the latest polls, Clinton beats Trump by 11%. But she beats Cruz by only 2%. 2% is within the margin of error. If Kasich cares for his party and for his country, he must stop dreaming that he can somehow prevail. He must drop out and he has to do it before the Wisconsin Primary. Wisconsin is quite close to Ohio, Kasichs home state. Thus Kasich has a home advantage and will divert badly needed votes from Cruz. If Trump wins Wisconsin, it's hard to see how Cruz can win the North Eastern states where Trump has a home ground advantage.
There is more at stake than just the Presidency. Trumps brand is toxic. He will poison the Republican brand. With him as the Republican Presidential nominee, the Senate could flip to the Democrats. At stake is also control of the Supreme Court for the next President could be appointing the next three Supreme Court judges.
The world is aflame with ISIS attacking US allies and the US. The US is in debt to the tune of $19 trillion. A Clinton Presidency will only continue the pain of the last seven years. There is substantially no difference between her policies and that of President Barack Obamas.
At this stage, only a Cruz nomination can have a realistic hope of stopping Clinton. Trump has benefitted from a friendly news media that gave him constant coverage. The left wing news media has not reported much of Trumps negatives. My suspicion is that they are deliberately holding their fire to help Trump win the Nomination, so that Clinton will have an easy target in the General Election.

“I would move to Canada”
Please do. You could move with the rest of the leftist going there. I’m sure you’d be happier.
That's what the VP is for. If it's Cruz he would probably have Fiorina as VP. She can attack hillary and not be "sexist".
It’s long past time for the republicans to stop attacking their frontrunner, and turn their fire on Clinton, and get behind Trump. Trump has survived about $50 MILLION in attack ads, just think if they had spent that amount on going after Hillary and all of her past and present scandals, Trump would probably be leading her by now.
Yes, I’m sure Hillary would rather run against Ted than The Donald. The globalist who own her will be sure to hang Ted upon the moral high ground no democrat ever sees.
If he shares his Women...
If Cruz were to cheat his way into the nomination the Dems/MSM would instantly roll out a few clips of he and Glenn Beck talking about God/anointing/the rapture/etc and Ted would be completely done. He would likely win fewer that 10 states.
And Canada is where Ted was born. He is a real American. Nottttttttttttt!
The pollsters are using a 2012 turnout model. The same thing happened in 1980, when the pollsters used a 1976 turnout model.
You really can’t blame the pollsters. Yes there is such a thing as agenda polling, but most pollsters try to get it right. They do this by using the most recent election as their model, which works great if the current election is just like the previous one. If you believe that Hillary will get the youth and black vote like Obama, and Trump won’t get blue collar Dem crossover voters like Romney didn’t, believe these polls. If you think the electorate is in a different mood now than four years ago, you know these polls are garbage.
First, Ted, the man that suffers from compartmentalization disease, has to get his FEC problems sorted out.... And then there is his harem of women issues... not to mention he is a ‘natural born’ Canadian...
Trump can’t beat Clinton.
Cruz is losing to Trump.
Let’s nominate Cruz.
That makes sense only to the GOP-e.
I don’t think so!

The whole thing is worth watching but there’s some real meat on Cruz beginning around the 8 minute mark!
While I will vote for him if he is the guy, my fear is that Cruz IS JUST ANOTHER JUDAS GOAT!
PS: As it is, after all, Easter Sunday, I hesitated to send this today. But as many of you may be home for the day and have time to see it, I did so. My rationale is that this election is without doubt THE most important in our lifetimes. If we mess up this one, you can say farewell to these purely religious celebrations but the idea of America. And just because I keep saying that doesn’t make it any less true.
“A Trump nomination will be disastrous for the Republican Party.”
From where I”m standing, Trump is the best thing to happen to the Republican party in a long long time.
It’s amazing that ‘smart’ people just can’t grasp this reality.
It’s not going to be Cruz, that’s a given.
Whoever they may succeed in tossing up there, will be just another open borders/amnesty loving pos.
So done with the uniparty - I await their implosion.
Yeah, when it is not remotely possible for Cruz to win enough delegates, let’s get behind Cruz so there must be a brokered convention.
I don’t think so. This is too little, too late.
Hillary can easily bring up the war on women in a debate with Cruz.
She won’t dare bring it up in a debate with Trump.
I am on to Cruz’s con.
No way do i want him as the nominee.
It’s past overtime.
We’ve nominated moderate republicans forever.
Now we’re supposed to coronate a liberal republican
Cruz is the one we’ve been waiting for since Reagan.
No way.
