Donald Trump’s vile response to fake #CruzSexScandal smear piece; Michael Savage responds

A disgusting article at the National Enquirer claims Ted Cruz cheated on his wife, which evidently spawned the hashtag #CruzSexScandal. The allegations, of course, are fake. And this author will eat her car if proven wrong. That is a promise.

On Facebook, Donald Trump responded to the fake story by saying he did not read it, and in his typical statesman-like manner continued:

“Likewise, I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer and unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence.”

Not surprisingly, National Enquirer CEO David Pecker is described as a close personal friend of Trump. See this excerpt from NYMag last year:

“Trump and Enquirer CEO David Pecker have been friends for years. ‘They’re very close,’ said a source close to the Enquirer. In July 2013, Trump even tweeted that Pecker should become CEO of Time magazine, which at the time was being spun off from its corporate parent, Time Warner. ‘He’d make it exciting and win awards!'”

Donald Trump was not finished bashing Ted Cruz, however, implying that the story was true, since the tabloid was “right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others…”

If true it is not disgusting. It is only disgusting if false. Neither side has been proven yet. It passes the "it was picked out of the outhouse test" only because the NE has accurately reported on politicians sleeping around before. That said, it has not passed the "it was pulled out of the garbage and dosed in baking soda test".

The allegations, of course, are fake.

I am curious how the author knows this. My general reaction to stories like this is to wait until there is credible evidence before choosing a side. There is no need to rush into battle and make statements that will be regreted later.

And this author will eat her car if proven wrong. That is a promise.

If you are proven wrong, you will not eat your car. If I am proven wrong I promise to order something other than BBQ Pork Mac and Cheese next I go to Noodles and Co.

In fairness, I have not read much produced by Time magazine that was worth reading. If it were turned into the National Enquirer, at least it would be entertaining to read the headlines during checkout.

I love how people are running around threatening to burn bridges when there is no evidence (as far as I am aware) that the article is true or false. Also, since there is apparently evidence that Rubio is behind the story, I fail to see why punishing Trump will do any good.



My own thoughts on this are it is too early to pull out the knives or to rush in now rather than wait some amount of time.

there is a sleaziness to Trump that bothers me and always has (for 30 years now). the goal is to defeat the democRATS in the general election, but the behavior of Trump is ensuring that Cruz supporters won’t rush to vote for Trump in the general if Trump wins. and Trump supporters are so religious in their fervor for Trump, i can’t see any of them voting GOP in the Fall if Trump is not on the ticket, in which case we’ve just ensured Hillary’s election. our country’s first female president (and first lesbian president) who has shown herself to be a congenital liar and to have contempt for the very people who will defend her right to sit in the oval office (i.e. secret service + military). how in the world did the GOP screw this up so badly. first, by being so out of touch with its voters as to make a Trump candidacy possible, and second by being so craven as to seek to split the party in half before a candidate is even nominated? they are truly the stupid party and this country is done. there is no future here if Hillary wins. pack up, sell off everything you can, and find a nice quiet spot somewhere in south america where you can try to ride out the coming storm. Ronald Reagan must be rolling over in his grave.
