Carson is a great doctor. But he admitted to trying to knife/bludgeon people. Someone like that should be praised for his later development as a doctor and Christian but I don’t see how such a man can be president. Trump was a little crude in how he voiced this concern (I am the first to admit he gets like that) but it maybe how such a message gets through in modern TV/internet age.
I disagree. He is a survivor of a very rough, fatherless upbringing, and rather than turn into a thug, he turned into a healer with compassion. In better times, he might have made a great president. I don't believe, as Trump implied, that "pathological anger" necessarily stays with a person for life. The word "pathological" was an unfortunate exaggeration that Ben used to characterize his feelings in an early autobiography he wrote. The book was trying to contrast his early hardscrabble days to his later success as a doctor, to try to help disadvantaged kids (of any color) who have talent and drive to also have the couracge to overcome misfortune and grow beyond it.
