The anti-Donald Trump mob is Making America Scary
The Spectator's Coffee House ^ | March 12, 2016 | Freddy Gray

Posted on 03/12/2016 6:33:40 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Last night in Chicago, a mob of progressives shut down a Donald Trump rally.

The protestors -- described as mostly young millennials -- infiltrated the University of Illinois Pavilion, in central Chicago, and set about subverting the event. They waved Mexican flags -- pro-immigrant, geddit -- and wore t-shirts calling Trump Hitler. There were violent clashes and a policeman was reportedly injured.

The protestors cheered when police announced the rally would be shut down because of security concerns. They revelled in their victory against free speech, taunting the furious Trump fans with chants of 'we won'.

This is American politics now: juvenile, anti-liberal, menacing.

We know that Trump voters are angry. Even angrier, it seems, are those on America's left who just cannot accept that Trump voters exist.

Weirdly, both sides want Donald Trump to win the Republican nomination. The Trump fans, obviously, because they love annoying the world with their candidate. But so too the anti-Trumpists, because they violently want to have a moral political purpose.

No wonder Donald Trump says he 'gladly accepts the mantle of anger'. He must see that anger on all sides fuels his rise....

Not a Trump guy myself, but I now have a reason to vote for him in the general election. He drives the left insane. This will only help him

Donald Trump and his supporters are not the least bit scary.

These are the same concerned Americans who peacefully marched on Washington to protest Obama and the Democrats abuses of power - and left the place cleaner than when they arrived.

These are the same people who gave the Republican Party historic land slide victories in 2010 and 2016 at both the State and National level only to see themselves considered the enemy of the Republican Party by the very people they elected.

They stood by and watched as they were ridiculed by the political insiders and then attacked and persecuted by the IRS with bi partisan support. They watched investigations go nowhere because the Republican leaders were complicit right along with the Democrats

They watched as their mandate to elected officials to block President Obama’s destruction of our country was ignored and the people they elected to block a rouge President instead collaborated and enabled that Presidents agenda.

They watched as their cities were terrorized by Obama organized BLM domestic terrorists rioted and burned cities while government supported the rioters and blocked and intimidated local law enforcement to prevent them from stopping the violence and arresting those responsible.

They watched the victory in the war on terrorism be reversed and an American President switch sides and support and arm the enemy to overthrow our friends and allies - all the while our politicians stood by and did nothing.

They watched as ISIS committed crimes against humanity that would sicken German concentration Camp guards and watched while our President not only blocked any efforts to fight ISIS, he actively provided them with aid and comfort.

They watched an American President divide the country and pit American against American to the extent that black youths go hunting for non black victims to commit un provoked assaults and murders for sport. It seems to many that certain elements in society are spoiling to start a civil war against main stream America

These are the same good, hard working, law abiding people who were so earnest and naive in their attempts to voice their concerns and petition their leaders for redress.

Now they are faced with thugs in both the political, media and criminal elements trying to destroy them and their way of life.

There is a saying that our political system is anchored by three boxes - the speech box, the ballot box and the cartridge box.

These people have diligently pursued the first two in good faith as vigorously as they can and have been rebuffed.

Worse yet, the leaders of their very own Republican party , who they provided historic electoral victories, have made it very clear in the most arrogant and public of fashions that they have no intentions of listening to their constituents concerns via the first option

Many see now see this election as a last chance at the second option and the political violence of the Progressive left as the opening volleys of the third option.

Is it any wonder the situation is tense and things are getting freaky out there. Regardless.

I don't see Trump supporters scary, I see them as responsible citizens who have patiently and non violently (despite being constantly facing attempts to bait and goad in violent response) pursued every lawful avenue for redress of grievances in good faith and who have seen that good faith burned to ashes by out political and media classes.

It''s the behavior of our political and media elites on both sides of the aisle that is scary

If our Republican leadership would do the job they were elected to do rather than collude and collaborate with the Obama Administration to enable the Obama agenda while simultaneously wage war on the very voters who elected them to office we would all be a lot better off.

The protestors are totally responsible for their own actions. Period.

Truth.

However, I suspect Rush is too far in the tank to take Cruz to task for his idiotic commentary. I don’t listen to the genius who tried to tell me Rubio was Reagen incarnate, so I’ll watch for commentary and see if what you predict comes to pass.

Thanks for laying it out there so clearly.

I now know to never ever take a word of what you say as anything other than blind worship.

Sick, just utterly sick. Thoughts like yours are a BIG part of the problem, own it.

We have the right to peacefully assemble. They do not have the right to disrupt our assembly.

I’m starting to believe “anybody but Trump!” really means “Vote Hillary”

The noozpeeps, politicians and party tools on both “sides” have the same tired old talking points.

It’s like none of them ever even had an original thought in their heads at all.

Trump is at least partially responsible for the violence at his rallies due to his words and actions. You know it, I know it, Cruz knows it and Trump knows it.

What you, I, Cruz, and Trump all know is that if Trump bore any responsibility what-so-ever, it would be HIS supporters fomenting riots. And if any of you had any integrity, you wouldn't be trying to make some grumpy old man clocking a protester the same as an organized leftist riot.

The truth is, again, that Cruz said the protesters were responsible for their own acts.

He also went on to say that if a candidate uses coarse and violent rhetoric that fosters an environment that begets violence.

He didn't say the protests were Trump's fault.

The concept that violence begets violence is not a new one: Sow the wind and reap the whirlwind", 'as you sow, so shall you reap', 'what goes around, comes around', and other such statements are common in Western Civilization and the Judeo/Christian ethos.

Yet Trump supporters 'found' Trump's name where it wasn't said, and claim Cruz 'sided with the protesters' which he absolutely did not.

Beyond willful misinterpretation of Cruz' remarks to smear him, there is no reason for this nonsense.

I don't think that's true. The only ones responsible for the violence and threats are those who choose by their own free will to go out of their way to harm others and/or disrupt their legal, peaceful assembly. They went out there with the intent to cause trouble and disruption. Nobody forced them to do it. Using the excuse of "incitement" is just a cop-out. In the end, those people chose to do what they did.

I can't count the number of times I've been made so angry by things that people like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, or any number of leftist idols, that I just wanted to go out and punch somebody. But I didn't, and not because of cowardice or fear, but out of respect for the law and honoring the rights enshrined in the Constitution. That's one of the differences between conservatives and liberals. When they get angry, liberals go out and riot and with hatred in their hearts seek to do harm to those who they think are their "enemies". Conservatives channel their anger into constructive outlets and do no harm to others. We often lose battles because of this and appear to have been defeated, but I have a sense that in the end the outcome will not be pleasant for those who wish harm to other citizens exercising their Constitutional rights in a peaceful manner.

Why wouldn’t I be? Because he spoke the truth?

Hate to say it, but if he spoke the truth and it makes things OK, then when Obama and other terror apologists say that it's really partly the fault of the victims because instead of laying down and kissing the feet of the thugs, they dare to say what is true about Islam.

Why did Cruz also broach that area when he chastised Trump for his "invective rhetoric" for saying the truth about how Islam hates us?

I gave lots of money to Cruz but he's pissing me off by being willing to stray from constitutional principles when he thinks he can leverage something.
