No.

I like Cruz the best because he is for small government. The constitution limits the size of government and is the best of the four remaining candidates to govern in a way that respects the founding fathers view of the proper role of the central government.

Trump does not feel the same way. He is many things that are pleasing to conservatives, but he does not respect the limits of power that the constitution was written to put in place. You need look no further than his repeal and replace on Obamacare. No conservative would believe the federal government had the authority to do anything but repeal. There is no enumerated power to justify Trump’s position to replace, any more than the original ACA had.

You can cite many examples of why Cruz is a superior candidate for conservatives. But imo, repeal and replace as touted by Trump is sufficient to make my point.

And imo, after listening to Trump, he seems fine with a big powerful government. I sense he feels the system in place is bloated and inefficient, and somebody smart and brilliant like he is, will make it better. I don’t want to choose anyone, no matter how smart or brilliant to make a big government more efficient. I prefer decentralization of power. I want power returned to the states and citizens.

“I prefer decentralization of power. I want power returned to the states and citizens.”

Have you even looked at Trump’s replacement plan? Repeal leaves vast amounts of federal power in place in medical care.

Trump’s plan gives block grants to the states for Medicare, returning some power back to the states.

It empowers the individual with Health Savings Accounts that are better than the previous version. It uses the commerce clause for its actual purpose; stopping the barriers that states put up to hinder competition, in this case, the Insurance industry.

His replacement is less concentrated government than we had before Obamacare.
