I take your point, but you must agree that Trump has said things at his rallies that ought not be said. Still, I agree that those remarks did not contribute to the nastiness on the Left. The Left was already nasty and depraved before Trump came along.

Nope. I do not. I see him saying everything that millions of us have been thinking, and of course, are forbidden from saying. It is becoming a truism, but its a lie. He has not said anything racist, he has simply stated the facts.
Many people don’t like those facts so they say he shouldn’t say them.
That’s it.
The things that shouldn’t be said are all the lies the others have been telling us about the moslems, how its wonderful to have 30 million Mexicans moving in, how strip mining American jobs is great, etc.
Yeah, Trump’s made some brash comments in response to disruptions from leftist protesters. But they were engaging in this kind of behavior since well before Trump was around, as you say. BLM disrupting restaurants and malls, campus activists shouting down conservative speakers, etc. What’s happening now was more or less inevitable — the result of Trump’s bold positions plus the fact that for the left nothing is off limits. The left permits to itself all means to accomplish its righteous ends, including disruption amd violence. Cruz is putting the emphasis in the wrong place by 1) blaming Trump and 2) saying almost nothing about the left. It’s galling.
