While one can stipulate that the left is trying to silence dissent (and much worse, viz Chicago this weekend), it does not follow that one can, or should blindly support every single thing Team Trump does.
That is to say, keeping the candidate safe is one thing, roughing up a girl reporter is another, and sorting out the one from the other will happen in due course. In other words, I don’t know what happened, but I’m willing to wait for the facts to come out and then let the chips fall where they may. But the knee-jerk, and often adhominem attack of anyone who questions this behavior isn’t exactly the sort of thing that will broaden your coalition.
To be more blunt, throwing casual insults and slurs and contempt at those whose help you will need in a few short months is worse than rude; it is stupid.

Yes....and all I can say is.....if it's just "the left" that is trying to silence dissent....
then there is suddenly an awful lot of "left" members here at Free Republic...trying to silence Cruz supporters. And yes....they are insulting the very folks whose votes they will need in November, should Trump win that nomination. Only...stupid doesn't even begin to cover how they are sabotaging their (supposedly) goal to get Trump elected.
That story has already been shown to be false. The "girl reporter" was pushed by a security officer, probably a member of the Secret Service. Maybe you think that's a problem, but blame that on the Secret Service, not Trump.
Personally, having been that close to Secret Service details exactly once I know that you need to move back and if you don't they'll move you back. Any reporter should know that.
