Trump is a pragmatist who also happens to believe he's convinced us that he's a legitimate conservative. He's going to pick a running mate based on the perceived need to coalesce the conservatives and the establishment. He'll do this by choosing a member of the establishment to run with.

He'll pick Kasich to deliver Ohio, the squishy morons in the middle, and the establishment. He needs them all if he's going to win. Trying to win with just 35-40% of the true believers won't work against Hillary. Being forced to listen Kasich for at least the next 4 years will be intolerable.

I think Kasich is probably the best VP candidate out there for any of these guys. He has executive experience and he knows DC. Yeah, he is establishment, but he is also malleable.

I love Herman (except when he lets E Erickson sub, that really ticks me off)
However, he is a seriously uninformed commentator. I can’t believe the number of times callers have asked him to comment on issues and he has basically said, “I’ll have to look that up.” These are issues on which anybody just keeping up with the news would know about. He’s not working hard at being a serious commentator. Shucky-ducky

Even more likely Trump/Kasich.

No real slam at Sarah, but she brings no DC experience and she would be more of a drain on the ticket. Trump doesn’t need to reach to the right. Palin would alienate the Independents.

Those are facts. The Sarahbots can disagree, but she adds nothing to the ticket.

Rubio has come around to the need to stop the invasion before anything else can happen

He may tell you that but he's telling his fellow travelers at Univision that first comes legal status and then some where down the road we deal with protecting the borders. Rubio is a lying sack of sh**t when it comes to amnesty and illegals.

“Seriously, you’re a lot more likely to see Trump/Rubio”

Yep.

Rubio just made a pledge that he’s not interested in any other position but POTUS and will head for private life after his Senate term.

Susana Martinez, Governor of New Mexico, would be a great choice as VP.

You sound like you are from Ohio.

I am from MA. Back when Dukakis, Kerry, and Mitt all ran, I spent time saying, “You are kidding me. I lived with this clown, and he is full of sh!t.”

I feel your pain.

Agreed. Trump will pick someone who will bring a large state with them like Texas or Ohio.

Trump team could be waiting to see how well he does in FL. If he wins big there he may be able to exclude Rubio in the VP mix.

Nope - Trump won't gamble on letting the establishment have its way in case anything happened to him.

I don’t think Dr. Carson should be one heartbeat away from the Presidency. Nice guy, great surgeon, not ready for prime time.

Why do you keep saying that? I've seen nothing that indicates that Rubio wants the US to be over-run by people who don't want to become true US citizens. Where he differs is he has a different view about what to do about those who are here and acclimated, and it's based on his cultural environment. I really believe he more completely understands the depth of the problem, and the degree to which other pols will play him.

Kasich on the other hand embraces the invasion. His deep pocket donors love cheap labor.

Agree. It’s going to be Sessions. Sessions is advising him and is keeping pretty quiet, working in the background.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

For electability, I agree.

As long as we get eight years of Trump, full implementation of his immigration and tax policies, and every radical Islamist group and street gang out there is pulverized, I could live with Martinez as VP.
