Code Trump: The Gallop Leftward Continues
American Thinker ^ | 2/15/16 | C. Edmund Wright

Posted on 02/15/2016 6:40:02 AM PST by TBBT

Donald Trump is now officially the Code Pink Republican. Or maybe he's the Daily Kos or Huffington Post Republican. How about the Debbie Wasserman Schultz Republican? I think that fits. Heck, we all saw it and we all heard it. Trump went full left loon on George W. Bush and 9/11, sounding like the most impassioned truther from the left. Did Maxine Waters do his debate prep?

Trump snarked childishly that Bush did not keep us safe on 9/11. Apparently Mr. Trump is not intellectually very curious about history. If he were, he would know that 9/11 was dreamed up, contemplated, financed, planned, and practiced on Bill Clinton's watch. This planning and practicing continued during the days of the hanging chads in Florida.

This is not to defend George W. Bush and his neocon nation-building fantasies and his capitulation to unions regarding the TSA and so on. I've been critical of Bush and Karl Rove since 2001 on these and many other issues.

But the truth matters.

And the truth is that the single biggest failure by the American intelligence community was foisted onto the CIA and the FBI by Clinton appointee Jamie Gorelick with her infamous "wall of separation" between the two agencies. They had their hands tied behind their backs -- thanks to a Clinton appointee.

Good post.

I think Trump’s meltdown Saturday was because of hatred of Jeb Bush. This has been kicked around by other posters but we couldn’t figure out the source.

It actually doesn’t take that much for Trump. Months of hate over a TV newscaster named Megyn. What’s up with that. People in office or running for it will always be abused by the media. Most blow it off.

So what could Jeb have done? It’s not as though Jeb were a real threat to Trump at this point.

This man is seriously unstable. I do not want him at the helm of our country in these times.

His supporters seem to think he will bring them all a raise and a puppy but we face a serious threat from outside forces.

If Cruz wins the nomination, I will gladly vote for him. But, I’m a Trump supporters.

The others, I’m not so sure I could vote for them.

He was not a great President.

Because of Trump at least one-third of the posters on this thread are now voting against George W. Bush.

If only Kerry had been elected instead.

Try to imagine after 8 stifling, lying years, that you’ve just been elected president. There is so much on your plate and now you have all these agencies telling you this and that. Who are goingto trust? Who are you going to appoint to look into wild ass claims of incompetence from the previous 8 years? The new president isn’t likely to walk in and furlough all federal employees for 6 months so that they have time to review every policy enacted by the past 45 presidents.

Really it's no different than what Sanders is doing just different topics.

Trump = wall = illegals. Supporters don't care about his touch back policy.

Trump = China = trade deals. Supporters don't care that whenever tariffs have been employed they have failed.

Trump = businessman = jobs. Supporters don't care that he himself says the private sector is where jobs come from yet he thinks he's going to wave a wand from the WH can create millions.

Trump = politically incorrect = steamroller. Supporters don't care that while he's railing against lobbyists he was himself a self admitted crony capitalist and while he's railing against the establishment he's promoting himself as the guy who can cut deals with them.

Trump = angry = Conservative. Supporters don't care that he's for Affirmative Action, Universal health care, eminent domain, progressive tax system, funding for PP. Nor do they care that as early as 2004 he's said he identified more with Democrats. Sure - all true Conservatives have said that.

It's cult-like. They want this massive change and they are willing to set aside principles to get it.

I would not have voted for him the second time had I known he was going to try to jam amnesty down our throats TWICE.
One term of Kerry might have spared us Obama.

“You’re candidate can’t even unite the Republican party.”

In case you haven’t noticed, Trump isn’t either. Getting 25-30% isn’t uniting the party.

Truman was a democrat. I often look back at the man who believed in that sign. He took it upon himself to do the unthinkable and saved our country. Enough men had died in the war. Japan had plans for California if they could get that far. Truman had had it with attacks on us... he ended it all. And the buck did stop with him. He did what no one in leadership today would have had the guts to do. Gutsy men are hard to find these days.

Fantastic President - not perfect, but not a single one is - and one of my favorite leaders. At the end of his Presidency, he got in his beat up car with his wife and drove across the country to Missouri, to his wife's childhood home, where they lived a simple life until the end.

“If any of these guys think the public is hype and ready for more wars over there, then they are as dumb as a box of rocks.”

Except the wars that Trump has promised to start. Those don’t count, right?

But what really drove me away was the condescending obnoxiousness of some of the Cruzloyalists. They are very loyal.

Most of them are very earnest. The problem is, they want US to be earnest about supporting Cruz, too.

Between those types, and the handful of paid TrumpBash/CruzBoost article CruzPostBots, I got turned off, too.

Or Algore. Al would have that climate thing whipped into shape by now.

Actually Gore is probably lucky he lost. If he’d won he’d still have to stay married to Tipper and he wouldn’t have made that fortune on the Global Warming scam.
