The vanities lately have become screeds, responses to screeds, or simply horrible blog posts.

Don't forget the:

1. prayer requests from strangers on the internet for every minor problem in life

2. recipe requests

3. what gun should I buy?

4. my kids/cat/dog did this today! so cute lol :)

....and so on and on.

"Don't forget the:"

"....and so on and on."

While I love listening to and discussing music, I have been annoyed by -- but have ignored and not mentioned, until now -- what seems to be the daily appearance of three or four 'Random Artist -- Full Album' links to random YouTube videos.

I come here to read and discuss political news and opinions. I will continue to ignore these links, but since the subject of annoyances was broached, felt it was fair game to mention them.

No offense intended to those who post or enjoy these things, but I don't think they belong here...

I got a kick out of your reply and yes, it seems that every month or so, we get the obligatory "I'm Buying My First Gun, What Gun Should I Buy?" thread.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big supporter of the Second Amendment and I actually feel that citizens should get a tax break for owning guns as they actually help keep crime down. If you don't believe me, just go to Alabama or Texas and try and break into somebody's house. It might be the last thing you do. But these "What Gun Should I Buy" posts are so cliche here.

Otherwise well written vanities don't bother me. Most Freepers have good writing skills and their vanities are often of op-ed quality.

Those who open a thread just for a random thought composing of a sentence or two - I could do without them.
