1) I was using the phrase "conservative donor class" with a certain amount of tongue in cheek. I consider conservative individual grass-roots donors like myself to be part of the "conservative donor class". And candidates such as Cruz and Carson are funded primarily in that way.

But also 2) Koch brothers are conservatives. Why do you think libs hate them so much? I don't agree with Koch brothers on everything, but agree with them on MOST things and would trust Trump FAR more if he was accountable to someone like them whom I knew to be reliably conservative.

They are libertarians. Pro gay marriage, pro pot legalization, pro choice.

Trump will be accountable to voters. If he screws up he’ll be a one term president. Congress and the supreme court will keep him in line. This is how the system is supposed to work and it applies to everyone.

Because Trump is self funding he’ll probably do what he says he’ll do. He’s obviously not trying to please anyone now.

Someone like Cruz on the other hand can be unpredictable. You may agree with him on everything but do you agree with his donors? I know for a fact that his biggest donor is pro amnesty. So when Cruz has the power that he wants, what will he do? Nobody knows.
