Going into tonightâs debate, Donald Trump holds a commanding double digit lead over Ted Cruz, and of course all the other GOP candidates. If he continues this pace, he will most certainly be the Republican nominee for president.
But thatâs actually not the most important victory.
The most important win comes in November, when America actually votes for the next president of the United States.
And to ensure we donât have another four years of damaging progressive leftist leadership, we need to defeat the Democrat candidate. The problem is, according to polls right now, at this moment, Trump ainât that guy.
Real Clear Politics presents theoretical head-to-head match-ups on the candidates in the general election based on a number of polls and the averages do not bode well for a Trump candidacy.
Against Clinton, Trump loses by 4.7 points. Against Sanders, he loses by 9.7 points. Here are the results for the other front runners:

It shouldn’t. Everybody acted on Mr. Roberts given what we were shown at face value. That he decided to become squishy at the moment of free market solution vs. government control of private enterprise was a shock to many. Ted included I’m sure.
Post the link Fraud bio!
You claimed in #24 Cruz voted to support Roberts.
Show us Genius. You have not addressed your lie.
We all are waiting to see where Cruz voted to support Roberts as you claimed
Or Was it an intentional Lie?
Yes, its up to us, the activists. Regardless of who the R candidate is, whether he wins depends on whether FReepers go convince their friends and neighbors to vote R.
I don’t think the problem necessarily Trump, Cruz, Rubio - or any other GOP candidate. I think the problem is that the voters, on a national scale, may well favor a clinton or sanders enough to even make the race *CLOSE*.
Like it’s said, “It’s tough to beat Santa Claus”.
We need figure out how to whittle that down.
Ok. For sake of arguement let's suppose I buy that. Do you still support Palin? If not, why not?
Your issue is with Trump's logic, not mine. He claimed that Thomas is his favorite, but then he blasted Scalia over Affirmative Action. Thomas is a stronger opponent of Affirmative Action, than Scalia, so he is not logical.
Of course, there is no evidence that Trump knows anything about Supreme Court justices, or that he didn't say that just because a staffer told him.
He also said his liberal sister would be a great Supreme Court justice. If we take his word on one, we should take his word on another.
Just because someone handed Trump a piece of paper that said he should say Clarence Thomas is the one he admires most, doesn't mean anything.
Trump has also said Hillary would make a great president, etc.
Besides, as bad a Robert's decision, that wasn't what passed ACA through Congress.
OK - here comes the stupid argument I keep hearing: “But... but... but... Palin endorsed Trump!”
I do still support Palin. I like her, and hate what was done to her.
BUT...
That doesn’t mean I agree with her on everything. She also endorsed Romney and basically endorsed McCain - two other losers. So don’t try the “she endorsed Trump” argument, because that doesn’t hold water.
These idiots blaming Cruz for Roberts being compromised years later via blackmail, threats or whatever worked is the nth of stupidity. It is reminiscent of the left blaming Bush for everything under the frigging sun. Coincidence? Probably not.
They are most likely paid Trumpette seminar spammers. Like post #24. naps was called out on it repeatedly in this thread..
His/her response: The Sound of crickets
UAM sure they ran off to another thread to
post the same lie.
And very important he picks the right Vice President, too.
December 1979/January 1980 : Reagan- 33% , Carter-62%
Historical polling for U.S. Presidential elections
We all know how that turned out.
I'm not trying to badger you. Just want to understand if where you come from mirrors myself. My line is that I believe people have a core. It would be easier for her to change her gender than her core beliefs IMO. It's my opinion that a lot of conservative "thinkers" attribute the left as having no core. I refute that notion. I believe they are dogmatic authoritarians. Nothing will change that. I couldn't so easily change what I think and feel. Can you?
Well that’s a shame. If the only Republican running was the Hunchback of Notre Dame, he’d get my vote. A Republican Administration is that important. I’m gonna’ cast my vote for the last Republican standing in November.
They all ran off to hide in their “safe place”. They pretend it’s a “Trump rally thread” and claim nobody but Trump supporters are allowed to post there. Never heard of that in all the years I’ve been here. They use the thread to call supporters and their candidates names and then scream and shout just like Trump if somebody calls them on it.
That’s where they run and hide when everybody is being “mean” to them.
If so, whoever is paying them should get a refund ....since they are doing more damage to the Trump campaign image (just as Trump himself via his own words) than any anti-Trump poster could ever achieve.

Republicans aren’t important. They’ve proven that. Conservatives are. If Hillary ran as a Republican, would you vote for her? Of course not. Just because Trump decided that, for whatever self-serving reason, he has decided to run as a Republican, it doesn’t make him a conservative. Only fools think so.
Trump will destroy either one of them!
