The Myth Of Donald Trump The Winner (And How He Treats Those He’s Hurt)
The Lid ^ | 2/11/16 | Jeff Dunetz

Part of the Donald Trump appeal is that he is a great businessman, and he certainly has taken his dad's business and grown it to big heights. But Trump is less of a business manager, and more of a marketing genius-a PT Barnum. He knows what to say and do to promote. It's why he is leading in the polls, and why he gets all the free airtime from the media.

His record as a COO/Manager, etc. is uneven. He has built businesses and he has destroyed them, as witnessed by his four bankruptcies. The Donald will correctly say he has never filed for bankruptcy. What he has done is driven a business into the ground causing the business to go belly up.

Donald Trump is a great "talker" and promoter, and to be perfectly honest that is part of what we need in America. Certainly in his effort to become president he has talked an excellent game and so far he has been lucky that there has been few attempts to back up his promoting skills.

America needs need much more than a promoter and bloviator, we need someone who can "manage," and the record shows Trump is not the best at managing.

Trump keeps saying he is a winner/he doesn't lose…That's not true, including the four bankruptcies, here are twelve times where he has lost:

DJT nor any of the others will do that - the pre-Nixon USA is long gone.

Cruz is a weak nasty person. So what.

How many harassment, sexual or otherwise, EO complaints, anything has he had in all his years in business? NONE. He is probably a great boss. Oh I am sure he expects you to work but he treats his workers fairly.

Trump also lost his defamation lawsuit against the author of the book, “TrumpNation” on a motion for summary judgment and on appeal.

The case was “Trump v. Brien”. It’s an interesting read and a bit of an expose on Trump’s inflated ego.

http://caselaw.findlaw.com/nj-superior-court-appellate-division/1579526.html

Here is a funny excerpt:

“Further, it is indisputable that Trump’s estimates of his own worth changed substantially over time and thus failed to provide a reliable measure against which the accuracy of the information offered by the three confidential sources could be gauged. The following exchange from Trump’s deposition is illustrative of this point:
Q Now, Mr. Trump, have you always been completely truthful in your public statements about your net worth of properties?
A I try.
Q Have you ever not been truthful?
A My net worth fluctuates, and it goes up and down with markets and with attitudes and with feelings, even my own feelings, but I try.
Q Let me just understand that a little bit. Let’s talk about net worth for a second. You said that the net worth goes up and down based upon your own feelings?
A Yes, even my own feelings, as to where the world is, where the world is going, and that can change rapidly from day to day. Then you have a September 11th, and you don’t feel so good about yourself and you don’t feel so good about the world and you don’t feel so good about New York City. Then you have a year later, and the city is as hot as a pistol. Even months after that it was a different feeling.
So yeah, even my own feelings affect my value to myself.
․
Q When you publicly state what you’re worth, what do you base that number on?
․
A I would say it’s my general attitude at the time that the question may be asked. And as I say, it varies.
Further, as defendants note in their brief, other sources recognized the difficulty of estimating Trump’s net worth and the wide spread of plausible values. Defendants quote a September 9, 2004 article in The Washington Post, which stated:
Actually, it’s hard to know exactly what percent of Trump’s net worth is tied to the casino business, because most of Trump’s portfolio is in privately held companies that don’t report earnings. He’s described himself as “a billionaire many times over,” but who knows? There are skeptics out there who believe Trump has $300 million, tops. And the guy has a reputation for, let’s say, shading the news in a light that reflects his enthusiasms.

Another interesting excerpt:

“We reject Trump’s additional argument that O’Brien improperly ignored Trump’s interest in the “Trump” brand. As Trump’s accountants acknowledge in the 2004 Statement of Financial Condition, under generally accepted accounting principles, reputation is not considered a part of a person’s net worth.4

Footnote 4. Trump contends that O’Brien acknowledged that his name was a valuable asset, calling it “bigger than Coke and Pepsi.” That statement is incorrect. The claim was reported in a BusinessWeek article as emanating from Trump himself.”

So Trump claimed that his Trump “brand” was more valuable than either Coke or Pepsi; and that his net worth varies from day to day based on his “feelings”. What a joke.

Push come to shove, I’d rather support anyone who is not a socialist in sheep’s clothing displaying tyrannical qualities.

Can you clarify this statement for me?

Here is a case regarding Trump’s use of Polish illegals doing demo work for $5/hour, no benefits, and often didn’t even get the $5/hour they were promised for work on his Trump Tower.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/07/08/trump-tower-was-built-on-undocumented-immigrants-backs.html

Trump is a low life sleaze ball who will use anyone for his benefit and will screw them over if he can.

I do not want to put words in your mouth. I wanted to hear what a clearer version of this might be. As I read it, you are fine with a dictator as long as he is not socialist. Is that a correct assessment of this statement?

I did. There is nothinglisted for donations going to Vets organizations, and didn’t Trump say all the money would go directly to the Vet organizations? A news report from yesterday said none of the 6 largest Vet organizations have heard from Trump.

Please explain that.

You have already made up your mind and you are already at the hanging demanding blood like the Romans in ancient times with the Christians..

If you had watched Trumps rallies in the last few weeks you would have seen him handing out $100,000 checks to charities they carefully selected. Charities where all or almost all the money goes to the vets.

This article is misleading. The top 6 vet organizations are arrogant to think they are entitled to the Trump money waiting for their phone call. There are far more vet organizations than these 6 vet organizations that can more than soak up the $6 million. They probably have so much overhead that the donation will not go to the vets a lot like the Red Cross.

As Trump said they are carefully selecting the vet organizations to make sure a maximum amount of money goes to the vets.

I don’t remember the names, but one I do recall provided vets with ptsd with trained dogs to calm them down and become centered. The organization spoke briefly and said that it cost about $20,000 per dog to get the animal fully trained.

Another organization said they would not accept the donations from Trump but if Trump gave the money to a local state senator, the senator would forward the money to that organization.
