I don’t know who rich you guys are, but in my neighborhood, $500M is enough to call yourself “rich”. Was all that given to him by his father? I have always heard that his father gave him a million or two to get started and then he bought that first run-down building. Is that part of the Trump story not true and he started out with a $500M stake?
I don’t know how much money Trump had in 1982. I don’t think Trump’s father provided him much actual money when Trump was starting out. It was mainly his father’s reputation and political connections that Trump benefited from. Trump couldn’t get financing in the beginning, so his father signed on to tens of millions of dollars in loan guarantees.
