Mt nephew is getting his Eagle Scout and I was wondering what is a good gift for him. He worked really hard and would like to give him a fitting gift.
Do they still have subscriptions to National Geographic magazine? That’s what I gave my grandson when he became an Eagle Scout.
Does anyone still read magazines?
I think a good knife would be appreciated. Another idea would be to get him an Eagle Scout coin engraved with the date he earned Eagle (passed his board of review).
I was a life scout and my troop folded before I could make Eagle.
I would suggest a Henry rifle, or a gold coin from Northwest Territory Mint.
A good handheld GPS with a topographic map display. Or, better yet, a good tablet with GPS tracking/mapping capability.
Including the red wool shirt-jac -- with the bull's tail over the shoulder -- if he makes the hike over the Continental Divide...
That Henry is hard to top...
My son, also an Eagle Scout, is now 26. We gave him the
Eagle Scout pocket watch and had it engraved. He still uses it to this day. Also will be a great heirloom to pass on to his child some day. (only married a year and no grandkids yet...)
BTW the watch is available online through the BSofA

We will have to disagree.
The young man has much to be proud of in achieving Eagle Scout and his family has much to be proud of in him for his character.
Thanks for your thoughtfulness.
Your post is right up there with my fav ...
I got kicked out of the Cub Scouts for eating a Brownie.
Last I heard he was a top performer in a Mexican circus and doing much better than me.
He has flourished and I'm ashamed of hiding his light under a bushel.. or a shed.. for so long.
A stuffed Bald Eagle.
He can go for that other merit badge seen below.
