In the AFC Championship, the Denver Broncos defense clobbered Tom Brady, sacking him four times, hitting him 20 times, and forcing him into two interceptions.

If Carolina has a front line that shows up, they will do better than the Patriots.
Never seen Belicheck out-coached before but it did look like he was flummoxed by the defensive game plan of Bronco’s defensive coordinator Phillips.
Was just about to mention my Seahawks coming back from 31-0 and almost winning that game. I’m certain the Denver brain trust learned a lot about Carolina’s defensive weaknesses by studying that second half. And on the offensive side, the Panthers didn’t score a point in those last two quarters. That crazy game gives the Broncos a LOT to consider and plan for.
Seattle didn’t get “blown away,” just had a lousy first half. If there were a few minutes more left on the clock, they might have won that game.
Wow! Not the kind of content I would have expected from Business Insider. If you pressed me, I’d take Denver and the points on a bet. That said, I’m not at all sure anyone knows how it will turn out, so it would be a very small bet!
The Panthers have an extraordinary running attack. It’s going to be tough for the Broncos to get pressure on Newton. He’s bigger than any cornerback or safety, so I question whether 180-200 lb. guys are going to be able to tackle him. Wade Phillips is a cagey old bear, though, and it would not surprise me if he found a way to thwart Carolina.
Then again, it could be close for 3 quarters, the Broncos tire, and Carolina blows it open. The uncertainty is what makes it fun!
Excellent article with excellent links BTW. Thanks.
My team is already out, just pulling for the Broncos because I’d like to see Peyton have a SB win to end his career on a high note.
Good luck to you as well.
Whenever I see someone constantly carrying on a personal pattern of behavior that draws attention to themselves, I think: what is everyone behaved that way?
Or what if every NFL team had six, or eight or ten players who behaved in that individual manner? What short of spectacle would we have then? Would you like to see that?
Maybe some think Cam deserves some special dispensation, but it never hurts to ask what we would have if large numbers wanted to act as some individuals act.
The Panther's have been given an easy ride with both of the other teams melting down early.
If the Broncos can keep it close, they will win.
Very possible, but not a sure thing by any means. Hopefully it will be a fun game to watch.
Yes, Very welcome Jim 0216!
Go Broncos/Panthers!
LoL!
I don’t know about bender2’s NFL playoff/Super Bowl thread. Do you know of any other Super Bowl threads going on or is that the only one. Bendy’s kind of funny, but sometimes seems to get a bit carried away.
Everyone there who spoke was rooting against the Panthers

Well, the good news is it’s a football game and not a ‘caucus’ so public opinion shouldn’t be a factor in who wins Sunday night. -)
Charlotte suburbs run into South Carolina, and they're the Carolina Panthers, not the North Carolina Panthers. I'm sure there are a fair number of Falcons fans in the western part of SC, though. Atlanta's closer to them than Charlotte.
Whenever I see someone constantly carrying on a personal pattern of behavior that draws attention to themselves, I think: what is everyone behaved that way?Exactly! I always think what clowns these players look like when they do their little dance in the inzone. I prefer how Marshawn Lynch handles it - he shakes the hand of his fellow players, or Russell Wilson, who does nothing at all.
Cam, on the other hand, is doing his little "superman" thing.
And I fully expect Carolina to win. I think Peyton barely limped through the last game.
But I’ll still be hoping for a Broncos win, if for no other reason than to not have to watch Cam Newton strutting around afterwards.
We’re having a family get-together tomorrow evening. My brother lived in Denver for a while so he’s a Broncos fan. My mom is from NC so she’s gung ho for the Panthers. The rest of us just want good “eats”, plenty of beer & a close game. :-)
Sounds like fun. My wife and I will be watching it (rest of family back in Atlanta).
