He does not have the temperament to do the job. He has a huge lead in NH and in a great position in the next states, and Cruz is not who he needs to worry about. His ego will not allow that. I was pretty excited all last year about his ascension and his ability to prove the political world wrong. He needed to grow into the roll, and has only gotten petty and self-centered since the 1st of the year.

I hope his advisors read this.

Frankly, me too. I am disappointed. I thought we might see something Yuge and historic this year. His initial bluster was fun and on-point. I am many even put aside some of the more ridiculous statements like the bleeding out of the whatever. His point was right, he took it farther than needed.

I was hoping that his December debate performance would extend forward where he was conciliatory towards Cruz and had a more controlled demeanor. It was a sign he was growing into the role. It’s not about Cruz, but about controlling the message and building bridges among different groups. January was basically scorched earth. That can work. It looked like it was in the short term as he regained the lead in Iowa from what looked on Jan 1 like a clear Cruz victory.
