I believe. I had a friend, Mary was her name. She worked for years to save up enough money to get an MG. She just had to have an MG. It actually got tiresome listening to her talk about getting an MG.

Eventually she saved enough money and got the car. The first week she had it she was in an accident. Took a few weeks, but it got fixed up and she was driving again. Two weeks later she had another accident, worse, but the car was fixable and she had it fixed.

I lost track of her for a couple months but eventually ran into a mutual friend and asked how Mary was doing. “Didn’t you know? She was driving that little MG she loved so much on the 91, slammed into the center divider, and was killed.”

It seems to me as if Mary was destined to die in that car. It took three tries.

on the 91

California native? I've never heard anyone else use "the" before a highway number.

My older brother (mentioned earlier) had three or four MG’s - wrecked every one of them! Not sure if it involved the supernatural though!

I have for a long time believed we all have and expiration date...how else can one explain things like plane crashes and only a few survive, it just wasn't their time to go yet..when working in the hospital, many patients have visions of loved ones and within several days they die...one woman was in the hospital due to a bad beating by her husband. She had 1 child. When you went into the room for something like dressing changes, she would always just mumble, but if you asked her about her baby, she was clear as a bell...One night she told me everything was going to be OK, her mother came to her and told her so....she said she even had on the dress she was buried in...the family moved her to a hospital closer to home....she died several days later....the family came back to the floor and told the nurses....we all had a special feeling about her.

The first MG that was widely sold in the country was the TC model. It had a boxy body and thin spindly wire wheels almost like bicycle wheels.

An automotive writer described it as a “coffin riding on four harps”.
