You missed the point.

It's the EPA. The agency he said he would use to enforce the ethanol mandate, and which writes its own regulations. Congress abdicated that function to agencies years ago.

It is the one federal agency which has done more than any other to force manufacturing offshore, bankrupt power companies, destroy coal, fight oil and gas drilling and especially hydraulic fracturing, pollute rivers (yes, that's their baby in Colorado), and even prosecute private property owners for filling in mudholes.

If an industry meets the standard, they change it, requiring another refit.

They have declared they own control over all water, surface and subsurface, and have declared CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) a pollutant and that they have the power to regulate it. Every time you breathe out, you exhale that.

Now kindly explain how in the hell we are going to have an economic recovery and "Make America Great Again" when the one agency that has done more to make sure we don't have the electricity, fuel, or materials to do so will continue, business as usual.

I think there may be a fudge factor involved.

"The EPA should ensure that biofuel … blend levels match the statutory level set by Congress under the [renewable fuel standard]," Trump said.

"As president, I will encourage Congress to be cautious in attempting to charge and change any part of the RFS," he said.

Trump calls for higher ethanol mandate

Asked on "Fox News Sunday" how he would cut spending, Trump named the Department of Education and the Environmental Protection Agency as potential targets.

" No, I'm not cutting services, but I'm cutting spending. But I may cut Department of Education. I believe Common Core is a very bad thing. I believe that we should be -- you know, educating our children from Iowa, from New Hampshire, from South Carolina, from California, from New York. I think that it should be local education," Trump said.

" So the Department of Education is one," he continued. " Environmental Protection, what they do is a disgrace. Every week they come out with new regulations."

Asked by host Chris Wallace who would protect the environment in the absence of the EPA, Trump maintained that "we'll be fine with the environment."
