Megyn Kelly to Ted Cruz: "The record supports you."
January 29, 2016 | Vanity

Posted on 01/29/2016 1:14:14 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

After the Fox News-Google debate Megyn Kelly interviewed Ted Cruz. [7:40 Video begins with a 1:00 clip of the earlier debate]

Kelly continued to pursue the "amnesty" angle that she'd begun during the debate [starting at 3:41] - about his history on illegals, immigration and amnesty, but concedes:

Kelly: "I look at your record, a lot, to see: Did Ted Cruz really want legalization, or didn't he?"

"I think the record supports you - that you did not want it; it does."

"It really was a poison pill amendment."

Then there is back and forth where Kelly states that Cruz had said that he wanted the Gang of Eight bill to pass.

Sen. Cruz corrects her and states that he wants immigration reform to pass -- but he never said he wanted the Gang of Eignt bill to pass. [He directs everyone to see the 11-page, very very detailed immigration plan on website (linked in comment below)].

Cruz explains tactics: "When debating Democrats [Schumer] you use the language of Democrats to show their hypocrisy."

"Schumer talked about 'coming out of the shadows' but it wasn't about that."

"Chuck Schumer said, 'If there is no citizenship, there is no reform and we'll kill the whole thing.'"

Their interview ended this way:

Megyn Kelly: "The record supports you." [Cruz: "Anyone here illegally is permanently ineligible for citizenship."]

"It was a poison pill."

"You do have a consistent record on that; I will give you that; we did look back on it."

Cruz accused Obama of placing a poison pill into the Gang of Eight bill. That is where the poison pill nonsense started.

I heard James Hirsen interviewed on the radio yesterday afternoon. He said that Fox had turned their network over to Ted Cruz. Looks like that was accurate.

Bottom line: If you are a Trump Fan he made a brilliant move in dodging the Silver Debate Bullet. If you are anyone else he looks like a Cry Baby.

Agree with that and your entire posting.

Your reference is some blog of an illegal alien, visa overstayed? My question was, when did Ted Cruz first inform us that he was using a poison pill strategy.

Keeps Cruz securely locked in as my fallback choice. Because Rubio TALKED a #%$& of a good game Thursday night; but I don’t trust him.

I understood your request.

I was documenting (in all that linked material) that it was always considered - in big bold print - to be a “poison pill” (by the Left and the Right) until the campaigns started; then the others’ needed to attack Cruz to cover up their amnesty policy positions and began to massage the truth.

I believe it was at that point that Cruz had to spell it out, as they were doggedly lying to discredit him and what he had accomplished.

If you want the exact date of the first time Cruz spoke of his amendment as a “poison pill” I don’t have that information.

I hope what I did give you explains that Cruz was working to stop illegals from getting citizenship.

I heard James Hirsen interviewed on the radio yesterday afternoon. He said that Fox had turned their network over to Ted Cruz.

If you watched the Fox debate last night, you would think otherwise. It wasn't until after the official debate concluded, that Megyn Kelly acknowledged Cruz' honesty.

Cruz accused Obama of placing a poison pill into the Gang of Eight bill. That is where the poison pill nonsense started.

But not where it ended.

That's a dangerously simplistic reading of what happened and not complete.

If you want to understand the "amnesty" "distraction," please read through this thread.

Then you'll be informed and can properly explain it to others.

Rush explained about the "poisoned pill" weeks ago or so.

But, people don't listen, don't understand or don't care. So it needs to be repeated, evidently.

How ridiculous and petty a comment. Santorum did not go to support Trump. He went to support veterans. As my son a veteran suffers severe PTSD, I appreciate any support given veterans. It is sinking pretty low to ridicule anyone supporting them.

I'm sorry to hear about your son. I hope he will be able to get all of the help he needs. The county owes him a great debt and much appreciation.

Santorum's has been attacking Cruz, as has Huckabee; they are practically non-existent in the polls; they went to try and grab some publicity.

You see Santorum and Huckabee's media grabbing antics differently than I do.

Please differentiate my loss of respect for Santorum, from my personal feelings about our military and the need for their support and medical care.

The article at your link is BS.

Elliot Abrams is not an advisor to Ted Cruz.

Elliot Abrams hates Ted Cruz.

“dangerously simplistic”???

Or, if I don’t agree with you, my understanding is not complete.

You can google interviews with Cruz from different people and he was always talking about legalization.

After his so-called poison pill amendments were voted down, he was still calling for legalization.

Up until last summer, he refused to say he was for deportation of illegals. Even during a debate, he said it not his “intentions” to legalize illegals. That is lawyer talk to give him an opening he size of a football field.

“Megyn Kelly acknowledged Cruz’ honesty.”

Kelly acknowledged his spin.

Who made Megyn Kelly the final arbiter? As even Rand Paul said, Cruz wants to put out that he is perfect in all his ways.

“Rush explained about the “poisoned pill” weeks ago or so.”

Rush was a bit deceptive in that explanation. He quickly slipped into his discussion the fact that Cruz called for legalization after his supposed poison pill amendments failed, and then went forward with the poison pill nonsense.

Pathway to citizenship.

NOT!

Big fat NO to CITIZENSHIP and the Gang of Eight amnesty.

It's all there on the thread.

How's your "radar" working on Trump's "word-salad" on everything - the BIG SALAD - the size of a huuuge football field?

: )

That’s why I posted all the back up linked on the thread.

It’s not spin.

And she knows it.

And said so.

After the debate.

She’s pulling for Jeb.

No clue what that means, but I got my info from searching on google and listening to Limbaugh.

I don’t need you to provide me with any sources. It is a matter of trust.

I noticed last night that Cruz would evade questions.
