1. You collect Social Security.
2. You own a gun.
3. A faceless bureaucrat decides that you have a mental problem, and/or you can't manage your own affairs.
4. Give up your gun and you get your Social Security back.
If a person cannot manage his own affairs, having a gun or not having one neither helps him nor hinders him in managing his own affairs. But taking his Social Security HURTS the person who cannot manage his own affairs!
I think your list should be more like this:
3. A faceless bureaucrat decides that you have a mental problem, and/or you can’t manage your own affairs. They notify the local PD that youre a risk and have guns.
4. SWAT team executes a no knock to confiscate guns. Social secutiry recipient is shot dead along with their dog.
