Trump was doing what any major player does.
He hedged his bets and donated enough to both sides that he was still up on their big donor list. Maybe more went to those he thought would pay off the best, in terms of connections and gratitude (most likely to win), but that's the way it is done at that level.
It isn't principle, it's pay-to-play.

No crap Sherlock, who do you think made it that way? It was politicians like cruz who are willing to do favors for campaign donations. What, do you think Goldman Sachs is paying cruz's way because they want him to stop crony capitalism? You criticize people playing by the rules you helped to create by supporting typical politicians. It is just very hard to take people like you seriously.
