Cruz was solicitor general in Texas during the Lawrence vs Texas case. Instead of fighting it himself as he should have, he left assigned to a Harris county District Attorney. Texas lost, and it went to the Supreme Court.

The case normalized homosexuality nationwide, and as Scalia said in his dissent, would lead to homosexual marriage.

So, no...it's not what Cruz did do.

It's what he DIDN'T.

Cruz never said he supported gay marriage. Trump has said he supported gay marriage.
