I started out being completely for Cruz. When trump announced, I made fun of him, called him a clown, made fun of his comb over, the way he speaks, all that.
But after that lady was shot in San Fran, I began to pay attention to what Trump was saying a lot more closely, and over time he convinced me that he is not a clown at all.
So at that point I decided I would support both of them, and I would vote for whichever one had the greater momentum in the primary here in Florida.
But, even though it probably is silly, the Cruz supporters here have turned me off to Cruz. It’s not even a little bit, I mean they turned me off big time.
I still have to qualify though, not all of them. A couple I really like and respect a great deal, so I do not include them at all in my anger about this, and they do not behave in such ways anyway.
But my point to the others is you think your outrageous behavior can’t hurt your candidate? Well it can, and it did, and that’s all there is to it.
Had something similar - last August or thereabouts, CSPAN showing raw feed of Walker stumping in NH, like a mayor talking about drainage, good goobermint, painting lines down the highway, message was ok but the delivery was underwhelming; next up on CSPAN live Trump, stumping about 12 miles away, GOOD GAWD everything was an exclamation po!nt - stop illegal immigration! Iran deal catastrophic! stop corporate inversions! bring their money back into the country! And the crowd went wild.
