Very interesting comment from another poster:
“Cruz does not pass “nearly every litmus test they can throw at him.” On the big one, immigration (illegal or otherwise), he fails. I prefer a rock-ribbed American, not someone who had dual loyalties up until 18 months ago - and yes, Cruz was aware that he was a Canadian citizen, folks. Why hold onto Canada? Hedging his bets? Besides that, he supports the hollowing out of American industries. Why else would he support TPA (he penned an op-ed for the New York Times in support of TPA, you may remember)? He supports increasing the number of foreign H1B workers. Teddy bears for illegals with Glenn Beck. Sure, Cruz is pro-life, anti-gay marriage, pro-gun, etc. But if he is not only complicit, but actively engaged in changing our demographics, changing our identity permanently, what does it matter? Those issues which are important to us will be forever decided, slanted to accommodate a third-world populace who knows nothing of our values, our heritage, our history. Cruz uses the wedge issues like gay marriage (as does every other professional politician) to distract from the issue I find most prescient. While we get all worked up over wedge issues, they barter away our country with secret trade deals, and with it our future.”
Cruz is “purty good” — but not perfect.
It is pure desperation to think that Ted Cruz has ever worked to undermine American sovereignty. He’s won SCOTUS cases protecting it. He helped stop the Gang of 8. He fought tirelessly against Obamacare and the DREAM Act.
You want to hit him because he supported the Reagan version of TPA? Be my guest. Argue protectionism vs Free Trade all you want. Worried that Cruz takes personal loans against stocks held with Goldman Sachs? Make sure you keep in mind that Trump thinks Goldman Sachs is the bees knees and recommended they be in charge of the funds for the bank bailout.
But leave off this ridiculous tin foil that Ted Cruz is somehow working against America because of where he was born. It is insulting not only to Cruz but to millions of dedicated, hard working Americans who are citizens born abroad as well as legally naturalized citizens.
I suspect Cruz has numerous divided loyalties or is it just simple deception/political calculation? An op-ed in support of TPA for the NY Times? I thought TPA was one of the most ruthless attacks on our sovereignity - kept secret lest we find out how bad it really is.
When it counts he seems to favor the globalist’s views. Then when it doesn’t count he seeks cover.
The comment you posted is very perceptive.
What a crock. Don’t you get even a little bit embarrassed spewing this crap?
Well said.
