Many people are becoming familiar with a common âtruth-stretching traitâ of Ted Cruz that appears to be infecting his followers and supporters.
It is pure desperation to think that Ted Cruz has ever worked to undermine American sovereignty. He’s won SCOTUS cases protecting it. He helped stop the Gang of 8. He fought tirelessly against Obamacare and the DREAM Act.
You want to hit him because he supported the Reagan version of TPA? Be my guest. Argue protectionism vs Free Trade all you want. Worried that Cruz takes personal loans against stocks held with Goldman Sachs? Make sure you keep in mind that Trump thinks Goldman Sachs is the bees knees and recommended they be in charge of the funds for the bank bailout.
But leave off this ridiculous tin foil that Ted Cruz is somehow working against America because of where he was born. It is insulting not only to Cruz but to millions of dedicated, hard working Americans who are citizens born abroad as well as legally naturalized citizens.
I want the “bashing” to focus on the issues. I’ve (rather harshly) reprimanded fellow Cruz supporters for making crass comments about Trump’s wife and daughter. I don’t care for Trump’s “style” of campaigning, but that is not the reason I will not vote for him.
I agree... we don’t be needing to dig down deep for remote suspicions. What’s on the surface is quite sufficient. Both he and Donald have ego problems. Clashes between them are going to be nasty.
I suspect Cruz has numerous divided loyalties or is it just simple deception/political calculation? An op-ed in support of TPA for the NY Times? I thought TPA was one of the most ruthless attacks on our sovereignity - kept secret lest we find out how bad it really is.
When it counts he seems to favor the globalist’s views. Then when it doesn’t count he seeks cover.
The comment you posted is very perceptive.
Someone has to do it. I bet the liberals are laughing their butts off.
Heck, until I read the article, I thought Sundance had been trolling FR!
Very interesting comment from another poster...
“I sat through a Cruz interview with Katie Couric and it was mind boggling how calculated Ted answered each question. He answered them all extremely well, but still came across as super polished and political. His answers all sound like what a well trained lawyer would say. Because that’s what Ted Cruz is. His demeanor just doesn’t do it for me at all. He’s the smarmy know it all kid who thinks he is awesome. Teds announcement speech had the same vibe.”
I’m perplexed by FR these days. I understand people wanting “their guy” to win... but when did we start entertaining hit pieces on conservatives? It’s almost getting to be hourly against Ted Cruz. What gives?
Got to admit, if it could be done honestly, it’s hard to beat Donald’s “Make America Great Again.” The devil in doing that is in the details. He’d need advisors. If Cruz could resign himself to not trying to be too clever by half, he could be a great advisor in that role.
This too shall pass.
Ted needs to humble down a bit and realize that God is awesome. God can use him just great... but he has got to stop trying to be too clever by half. That will only bite him in the butt.....
I agree. Cruz could be Attorney General - could be a good one - if he could get confirmed. Although they might confirm him just to get him out of the Senate.
This is kind of what a search for truth looks like. If your brother is wrong you don’t say he’s right, though you might try to be gracious about it.
Billionaire Kevin “Mr. Wonderful” O’Leary from “Shark Tank” to run for Canadian Prime Minister ala Donald Trump?

Great, another “voter” who decides who to vote on based on “tone”. Isn’t that what Trump has been speaking out against—this nonsense of voting for the candidate with the best hair/wasit-line/complexion/voice?
Also, you replied to my post arguing Cruz’s record with a post about how his words come off too practiced. Can you not see the difference between actions and words?
Your’s is the most reasoned assessment expressed on this matter. Thank you.
If Obama was eligible, Ted is eligible. It may be settled in law officially but I’m not a constitutional scholar. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t for Obama’s eligibility... but I think that ship has sailed for these two guys.
Well be proud then.
Cruz has been successfully Palin’ed.
Enjoy your victory.
Never mind the consequences to the country.
A true conservative would want to preserve and uphold the Constitution by not voting for someone who is not eligible to be President.
Voting for Cruz and having him as President would weaken the Constitution.
