I have been a long time listener of Mark Levin and there is something very odd about the way he has approached the eligibility issue from the outset with Obama and now Cruz. It is as if he doesn’t want to deal with it, which is uncharacteristic since the Constituion is his forte and he regularly expounds on all aspects of the Constitution. This is bizarre to say the least because I truly believe he is extremely knowledgeable on the Constitution. I, therefore, must conclude there exists some sort of hidden agenda. Perhaps, he, like the other conservative radio hosts, were threatened to steer clear of the issue with Obama and now they find themselves in a trick bag with Cruz. Whatever the reason Levin is not doing himself any favors with his outlandish, arrogant, disrespectful, over the top and defensive behavior. It is almost as if he is now trying to force a square peg into a round hole.

I think you nailed it. I know for a fact Rush does some serious show prepping on FR. When FR was completely chock full of info about the lies of Barry’s past, Rush would not even mention it and that was a never. I mean, if FR was hot on some new info on any subject, Rush practically led with it. And the birther stuff (proud birther here) -— he wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole. Clearly they were all warned off as some lower level radio hosts even attested to.

Now they are hanging by their own petards. I agree with Levin here re Cruz and NBC but that is one interpretation. There are two constitutional interpretations that make decent sense: two categories of US citizenship or three. It could go either way. I grew up thinking one way, and now I feel the other makes better sense, but it’s not about my interpretation, or Levin’s, or Trump’s, or even know it all Cruz’s (I like him but this is not an issue for him to be arrogant about - he obviously would have a bias and would need to recuse himself on this issue).

Or, it could be much simpler than a tin foil hat conspiracy theory about Levin’s motives. Maybe, being the Constitutional scholar you admit he is, he simply sees no violation of constitutional eligibility by either Obama or Cruz.

It’s not just Levin then. It was the entire conservative talk radio, pundits, Republicans and even most FReepers who didn’t fight Obama’s eligibility hard enough.
