Donald Trump has been on a tear today on Twitter, consistently attacking Ted Cruz today. Trump has called the Texas Senator a hypocrite and challenged him repeatedly over his comments regarding New York.

Trump: Everybody that loves the people of New York, and all they have been thru, should get hypocrites like Ted Cruz out of politics!

Earlier today Trump slammed Cruz for accepting money from supporters of gay marriage and then taking a stand against it. He said on Twitter, "If Ted Cruz is so opposed to gay marriage, why did he accept money from people who espouse gay marriage?"

Really .. “Vattel’s Law of Nations” .. are you joking .. ?? Since when did that replace the Constitution ..?????

Good grief .. you are way out there in LA LA LAND.

I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANY OF YOU COMPLAINERS NAME ANY OF THOSE “OTHER” LAWYERS.

AND .. AS FAR AS I KNOW .. THE CONSTITUTION IS STILL THE LAW OF THIS LAND .. AND HAS SUPERCEDED ANY OTHER LAW FROM ANY OTHER “NATIONS”.

You guys need to go back over to twitter .. FreeRepublic is way out of your league.

I realize you are very angry watching your boy go bye-bye, but stop yelling and try thinking about the other side of the argument. I am sad and angry to and what Cruz's supporters are doing to a fine man.

I have no truck with Tribe, but he is very persuasive in making arguments before the Supreme Court, which is a measure almost no one here, not you are me certainly, can live up to. Therefore INSTEAD OF SCREAMING THAT TRIBE IS WRONG AND ANYONE WHO LISTENS IS AN IDIOT you need to slow down, understand the argument and explain why it is wrong. Other great legal scholars do that frequently. It works. Tribe loses as often as he wins.

The argument against Cruz is that the documented intent of the founding fathers was to ensure that the president, the presidency, and the election process are not subject to foreign influence. They did that by requiring that the president be a "natural born citizen." That phrase was not argued in say the Federalist Papers, but was quite well defined in international law at the time by Vattel in The Law of Nations. It required birth in the United States with both parents as U.S. citizens.

But the argument has never been tested in the Supreme Court and there are obvious complications and arguments against this absolutist position (e.g. McCain the son of two Americans serving oversees under orders from the US Navy). Until the Supreme Court settles the matter, you can yell and scream yourself blue, which you are obviously doing and it settles nothing.

Why has Cruz not provided us a written argument (facts, legal cases) for why he is eligible? Instead of that or seeking a declaration in the Supreme Court, he goes around asserting that there is no issue and leaving it up to individuals like you to scream their lungs out IN CAPITAL LETTERS ON FREE REPUBLIC and such.

And BLOCK CAPITAL LETTERS ARE A VALID LEGAL ARGUMENT NOWHERE in part because no one can read them and they distract from the facts and principles under discussion.

BUT YOU PREFER TO YELL.

Me, I would be happy to have Cruz as President. I think Trump is a better candidate to solve the real problems in this country at this time. I will not run down Cruz though. I don't need to. You are known by your friends, and CRUZ'S FRIENDS ARE KILLING HIM BY SCREAMING IN BLOCK CAPITAL LETTERS WHICH I can't read and so I can only conclude that the folks arguing on his behalf must be insane and that is the problem a lot of my friends state - his supporters are insane.

Give up the block capitals, argue your position and maybe I can defend your sanity against my more liberal friends.

You see, I think Cruz is a good man and we need good men. If he were the candidate I would vote for him for president. I would not challenge his eligibility. But someone will. Someone already has - and that is the issue which needs to seep into your brain which it cannot SO LONG AS YOU SCREAM AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS IN CAPITAL LETTERS INSTEAD OF ARGUING THE POSIITON.
