Volcanic eruptions have occurred at their highest rate in 300 years, and experts caution that there could be a massive "super-volcano" with the potential to kill millions and destroy substantial amounts of wildlife. Scientists at the European Science Foundation said super-volcanoes could erupt within the next 80 years, reported the Tech Times.
Researchers said the active volcanoes that could prove to be the most dangerous are Yellowstone in Wyoming, Mount Vesuvius in Campagnia, Italy, and Popocatépetl near Mexico City. If any of the three erupt, the damage would be "beyond the imagination of anything man’s activity and global warming could do over 1,000 years," according to the researchers.
In the report, titled "Extreme Geo-hazards: Reducing the Disaster Risk and Increasing Resilience,†scientists predict that the Yellowstone volcano will erupt within 70 years and will have the potential to wipe out a considerable amount of the western United States.

Anylace west of say..mount hood I would not want to be. Personally, if I were you, I would make plans to get out to the east at least 300 miles away. Every single bridge, every single overpass will be toast in the western part of the state. The wave will creep up into the river valleys a loooonnng ways.
It will take at least 2 weeks for relief to arrive in a lot of areas. No power, no communications, no ability to travel very far.

How well I know. IF the earthquake doesn’t drop or damage ALL the bridges west of Snoqualmie Pass, I should be able to escape to family in Spokane...AFTER it happens.
I’d love to move there now, but economic and family resource necessity makes it kinda difficult right now.
We can stop the volcano from erupting if we load a new tax on the middle class.
Ya know..I laugh. All these radio dude add on bug out stuff etc. I met one a couple years ago who was a “survival” expert. I asked him what the best bug out thing there was. He went down the list of all the crap a family would need. Water, food, etc.
I told him the best bug out device there is...is a camper trailer with a small portable generator. The dude was gobsmacked. Dont even need the generator if a real good solar panel is attached. Can even use it in the back yard of your house. All self contained etc. Of course, a turkey fryer, a charcoal grill, would work if no trailer. The thing is with a trailer, you have shower, refrig, stove etc. And a small trailer..a 17ft would work just fine for a family of four. Not that you could afford it and you’d be just fine without the trailer if you plan. The turkey fryer would heat up water-get a good 30 pound LP tank filled. The charcoal grill for cooking as you can burn wood in it if no charcoal. But drinking water is another thing. A gallon per person per day...or a good cheap filter if a river is nearby, and then boil the water over the fryer to make sure.
For your case, hopefully you have a route picked out in case. Single family, single story, wood framed houses are pretty safe. Anything brick is not safe.
Got to figure a month siege when this happens.
