I'm guessing the demo for antagonistic, sadistic comediennes with multiple chips on their shoulders is really quite small.
The WSJ did an article on the comedy circuit in the 1980s. I think they said the market (at the time) could support around 200 full time stand-ups.
There are plenty of angry women running around without having to take the chance of spoiling a night out by actually paying to see her.
