MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and yours ! :-)
The GOP
establishment hated Reagan too. Sadly, Trump’s no Reagan.
Yeah, what you said.
These neo-cons have their roots in Trotskyite communism, while the radical leftist Democrats follow the model of Leninist communism. Lenin advocated militant overthrow as the best path to communism. Trotsky advocated a softer, gentler path, with a more global target -- instill democracy in a nation, and let it naturally morph into socialism, which then morphs into full-blown communism. This Trotsky model is exactly what the neo-con RINOs of today advocate and employ with their nation-building adventures abroad.
The commie bastards of the GOP-e really would prefer Hillary or Bernie Sanders over any conservative Republican.
Merry Christmas.
I think you give those Godless bastards way too much credit.
They did.
Number Two: the very real blow to the mongolian cluster, er, DC consultancy cadre and their once-every-four-years payday. This is the other half of the equation noted above that fuels the Beltway Cocktail Circuit.

Ralph Waldo Emerson’s "Concord Hymn" was written at the request of the Battle Monument Committee. At Concord’s Independence Day celebration on July 4, 1837 it was first read, then sung as a hymn by a local choir. I have studied Emerson’s works and believe the Concord Hymn is his finest poem. The poem exalts the patriots who fought for our freedom. Yet it also respects the English "foe" who also deserve our salute as brave warriors. Emerson's use of the word "shaft" is very artful. It describes the monument being raised to the heavens in tribute, and yet it also suggests the shaft in the ground where the heroes are laid to rest. If you have not yet visited this site in Concord, Massachusetts, you owe to yourself to do so. It will surely stir the heart of any FReeper. |
“If this is really an honest revolt, then history is being made right now.”............
Plus, no shots have been fired, at least not yet. The real revolt will come when the people are pissed enough to start using the weapons they have.
Thanks, poconopundit. A great recommendation. A great poem (it’s been a long time since I heard it). A great image.
Merry Christmas to you and to all FReepers.
Sorry, Ill make it clear next time. I like to speak abstractly to hide my real intent. Parables are my favorite.
Great Post!
Trump is not one of them, neither are you, neither am I. They don’t so much care about the candidate’s philosophy, or how well he might govern, as being someone they can get access to and influence, someone who will go to the same brie and chablis parties as they. Trump would upend all that.
