If you read the article, it is a classic example of specious causality. This “random pair” shift occurred about 6,000 years ago. Incidentally, that’s about the time sedentary agriculture began to emerge and human communities began to form. So of course, the latter MUST be the cause of the former.
Fortunately, there are some few truly educated people left out there that will notice that.
