What you said...Worth repeating
There is no biblical requirement to believe in Hell or the rapture as a condition of salvation
What he may have been referencing with the Rapture statement could have been around “Premillennialism,” “Amillennialism,” and “Postmillenialism” differences.
I would need to hear the comments in context.
At this time, I can't throw stones at him. He seems a decent man with enough biblical knowledge to be asked to lead a Christian conference in which he embarrassed an attending 0bama.
That is not accurate. The Catholic Church teaches there is a hell and many are going there. If there are Catholics that teach otherwise, they are heretics. If they believe otherwise, they are ignorant of the teachings of the Church.
From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
1033 We cannot be united with God unless we freely choose to love him. But we cannot love God if we sin gravely against him, against our neighbor or against ourselves: "He who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him." Our Lord warns us that we shall be separated from him if we fail to meet the serious needs of the poor and the little ones who are his brethren. To die in mortal sin without repenting and accepting God's merciful love means remaining separated from him for ever by our own free choice. This state of definitive self-exclusion from communion with God and the blessed is called "hell."
1034 Jesus often speaks of "Gehenna" of "the unquenchable fire" reserved for those who to the end of their lives refuse to believe and be converted, where both soul and body can be lost. Jesus solemnly proclaims that he "will send his angels, and they will gather . . . all evil doers, and throw them into the furnace of fire," and that he will pronounce the condemnation: "Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire!"
1035 The teaching of the Church affirms the existence of hell and its eternity. Immediately after death the souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell, where they suffer the punishments of hell, "eternal fire." The chief punishment of hell is eternal separation from God, in whom alone man can possess the life and happiness for which he was created and for which he longs.

He has tourette syndrome. He says the weirdest things - out of nowhere. Glad he was a neurosurgeon (brain mechanic) and not the President.
Hold on now. We still need to find out what Trump’s views on Holy Communion are.
And what are Cruz’s views on preterism?
Oh wait. Is this an election for Pope or president? Bloggers and their blogpimps seem to get the topics muddled.
I agree with your statement.
Can you elaborate?
In my experience Macy’ sucks and the employees I’ve dealt with haven’t been particularly pleasant. Way overpriced and snobby to boot.
The rapture theory is only 200 years old. The church for the first 1800 years didn’t recognize it. The theory is usually credited to John Darby, but it really was started by the Edward Irving in 1820. SDA ‘s have a few quirks, but when it comes to the second coming they are completely orthodox.
Spent several weeks in a patrol car with a member of SDA. He spent all our free time trying to convince me that I was going to Hell because I went to church on Sunday rather than Saturday. Anything I had to say to the contrary fell on deaf ears.
Fortunately my promotion to Sergeant came through and I was able to dump this smuck off to someone else.
Flakes one and all.
Bmp4L8R after low sugar returns to normal and I can think. Happy National Cookie Day!
I hear what you are saying, but if you don't believe that hell exists, a subject Jesus spoke of more than any other, then why did he even need to die for our sins?
Horsefeathers. Bullpuckey.
I don’t know it’s really weird stuff to me...they believe this right here is heaven, and that when all evil is rid of this world, the streets will turn to gold, and there will be brightness that we have never seen, and there will be peace, there is no mention of God, but they really believe that this is going to be heaven, but first the world has to be very very evil first before the brightness comes to bring the peace that will turn this world into heaven...
When I tried to get her to tell me about God, she wouldn’t and would go on to something else...I don’t know if they believe there is a God or if they don’t, it’s the brightness she talks about...and that is what some of my research says also...apparently there are different degrees? of this?....
I suspect the Captain doesn’t care so much about Trump’s religious views. Her sanctimony seems to have some boundaries.
from several sources: Adventists believe in “conditional immortality.” Only the redeemed are granted immortality. Those who are not redeemed are snuffed out of existence.
Do you really have proof that Jesus talked more about Hell than of God, Love, or Truth?
