Trump or Cruz: Which Revolution will it Be?
Conservative Review ^ | 2015-11-30 | Steve Deace

Posted on 11/30/2015 6:25:28 PM PST by parksstp

often come away from the conservative/Christian conferences I’ve attended around the country with the feeling that we’re trying to drive the car by hitting the gas and the brakes at the exact same time.

Although I have met many wonderful people at those events, and received no shortage of inspiration from the speeches I have heard, there is also a shadow that looms over everything. This shadow taunts us with visions of an army, whose soldiers run away or whose weapons jam right at the very moment in the fight when resolve and execution matter most.

Well considering out last few candidates and nominees, I still find it refreshing.

“And more importantly, he hasn’t done anything to warrant the level of TRUST that Cruz has.”

Trust?

I waited months for Cruz to say anything about illegals, and what he finally came out with was condescending and vague. I no longer trust him. I think his donors are influencing him.

And comparing Trump to Reagan is silly. The world has changed-the left is more entrenched, more dishonest. We need a Churchill, someone more brash and nonPC.

“for me I’ll stick with Cruz who’s proven he is a true conservative and backed the talk up many many times.”

Except for his deafening silence on immigration, legal and illegal, the first 4 months of the campaign. Now, he is being condescending (Americans don’t want to talk about it until the border is dealt with) and vague (deal with the illegals in many means).

I’m going with the only candidate with a conservative stance on illegals. Without this, the other issues are moot.

Another solid article by Deace pointing out why it is more rational and logical to support Cruz in this battle than ever before. Now that Cruz has risen to the top 2, we're finally going to find out who the real conservative voters are and whether or not the real conservative voters are outnumbered by the pseduo-conservatives.

And support is only a word if not backed up with cash to the campaign or actual involvement in the ground work....

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to FR

Donate to Cruz

Donate to FR

Same. I’ll take a proven conservative over a salesman and his marketing team any day.

“...Trump would theoretically be deal maker extraordinaire and push through legislation...”

As for pushing legislation through the sausage-grinder — that’s congress’s job. Trump can cheer-lead and negotiate/commit to signing (or vetoing) whatever hits his desk to try and sway congress, but it is ultimately up to congress to put it on his desk. Therein lies the root of the legislative problems we face. Getting a bill out of committee and to the floor for a vote — in both houses. Trump can only try to embarrass them into action if they are recalcitrant.

As for his deal making skills — That is what he is known for. My concern is that (policy wise), when he is in full-on negotiating mode, with his *massive* ego pushing him to be seen as the “deal winner!” at all costs, what (if anything) would be “off the table”? Or would *everything* be on the negotiating table?

For instance... What would he completely refuse to negotiate on, again from a policy perspective, if giving-in on a side-negotiation of “the border wall” deal would result in overall agreement that makes “The Donald” look better than his opponent and gets enough Dems to agree to his border fence/wall?

Would he agree to sign a “Fairness Doctrine”?
Black-Rifle / Large Cap Mag ban?
Require common-core for home-schoolers?
Keep 0bamacare largely intact with cosmetic changes only?
etc, etc, etc...
How much is he controlled by his ego? He needs to put that question to rest.

Giving the facts is not bashing.

You want me to pretend he wasn’t silent, and now vague, on all immigration while the other candidates were quite forthcoming?

Only liberals and Cruz supporters think giving facts equates to ‘bashing’.

Imagine how much better Trump would be if he did a four-year apprentice to Donald Bren.

Except Trump would probably thump you if you brought up Bren's name, seeing as how Bren, a real estate mogul in the same game as Trump, is worth four times more than Trump, obviously because he is much better and more talented than Trump at getting things done.

But we all know Trump doesn't need to apprentice to anybody, got that? He's already "terrific" as he is. Bren probably got to where he is because of unfair advantage -- I expect that would be Trump's rationale because it's his rationale for crapping all over an agreement he signed a few months ago not to run third party, at which time ZIP news stories report anything about him saying at the time, "If they treat me fairly." He didn't say that until six weeks later, that I can discover.

Trump is a bad choice, a bad risk, a TV showman, Elmer Gantry. Snap out of it!

OK. That is how you feel now. Vote for whomever you wish in the Primary or Caucus in your state. However, if the Republican Party picks Donald Trump, PLEASE, PLEASE hold your nose and vote for him! Thank you in advance.

I'm curious -- did it mention his five deferments from the draft during Viet Nam?

Did it mention how he was sent to military school at the age of 13 after giving his music teacher a black eye? Of course, the black eye was merited -- Donald Trump explained that "I didn't think he knew anything about music."

Did it mention that although he is a Christian, he has never asked God for forgiveness? In fact, starting at 3.30 in the linked video, see the questioner ask him the question, and see Trump hesitate before saying (to laughter) "That's a tough question." Oh that colorful courageous Trump, what a character! If Obama had answered the same, or Cruz had said such an absurd thing, the same people chuckling at Trump's "wit" would be BOOING, and rightly. I mean ... handwriting, wall!!!!!

Indeed, IMO an inappropriate question, and if anyone ever asked it of me in a news interview, I'd perhaps answer "Of course" and then demand that the interviewer ask something intelligent. NOT TRUMP! After admitting that it is a "tough question," he spends quite some little time basically saying, "Not me!"

Did the History Channel documentary mention that he believes - and has stated exactly -- that he is actually BETTER trained militarily than many genuine military service folks, because of his military school experience?

I beg you, Sasparilla -- please open your eyes to the real Trump rather than the one that the MSM is projecting and has projected for at least 10 years.

For insult-free posts with critically important truths about Trump, read my posts in-forum and be secure and confident that even if you are one of Trump’s biggest cheerleaders, you will NEVER be personally attacked or insulted in any of my posts. You will only be asked to look certain truths in the eye.
