To: Extremely Extreme Extremist

Tracking US citizens because of religion and not an actual criminal threat would be heading down a very slippery slope. Anyone in favor of this, think for a second: how much power do you really want a Democratic administration to have over monitoring your life? Monitoring people’s religion would certainly be an expansion of the already too broad surveillance that’s going on.

Think too: how are they going to enforce this? They can’t just ask, because people could simply lie. Do they round up people from mosques? At that point, actual terrorists may just worship at home to stay out of the database till they self-detonate.

I’m just really afraid monitoring people based on their religion will come back to haunt Christians and Jews, when the wrong people get in power. I think simply monitoring people coming into the country and mosques for extremism is much more in keeping with the Bill of Rights.

If Islam was ONLY a religion, I’d agree with you. They will have options if they don’t want to be tracked.

Has nothing to do with their religion...It's about the ideology...Their goal is not to become part of America...Their goal is to take over America...And for that, they should all be removed from our Country....

there is nothing stopping them now..agree with slippery slope, but we at this point are ruled by obozzo, not the law..
they are spying on us, they are planning for war with us, the question is where will the military fall?

I was apoplectic over this Trump smear, feeling just as you articulate here regarding liberty and taking personally the NAZI smear as a Trump supporter.

But, after further consideration...seriously, why not have database of Muslims in the United States? I started thinking about all the databases I’m in for sure. My businesses are heavily, heavily regulated and audited by the government - they know every deal I’ve ever made, every check I’ve ever written - tons of databases there. Every charitable donation ever made by me is in IRS databases. All my business dealings and earnings and partnerships and corporations. My fingerprints at FINCEN. Trade names. Real estate records. Division of Employment when they audit for unemployment insurance and workers comp. UCC’s. Motor vehicle, accidents and insurance. Health insurance. Every political donation. Cell phone and internet databases. Google probably knows more about me than my wife and kids do. My banks that diligence me every year. The EZ Passes on my automobiles. They’d be able to get all my credit card records in five minutes if they wanted them.

The point is obvious to me now - this thread is correct - so what if Muslims are in a database ? I’m sure the government could get my baptismal certificate from the church if they wanted to, assuming they don’t already have it. What about the census?

The government already tracks the middle and upper class via income tax. What could be more intrusive really. I have a SS number, a drivers license, a FICO score, my only way of not being tracked is to go off grid. Hell they probably have my finger prints as well I have had to provide them for back ground checks.

What's wrong with refugees providing finger prints and DNA samples and being required to report on their address periodically? Once they have applied for permanent status and it's been granted they can petition to be removed. What's the big deal?
