A possible response to the sensitive (?):

Dear Offended Students,

Yale received approximately 27000 applications for admission to the Class of 2017. 2000 applicants were admitted. There are 25000 rejected applicants ready to take your pathetic places in this Ivy League University. We really will not miss you.

There are 2473 other 4 year colleges in the United States and chances are good that you can find one suitable to your sensitive feeling. Feel free to apply to any of them or not. We the management and faculty at Yale really do not have any empathy for you sensitivities. We are here to educate you.

We do suggest that you enlist in the US Army or Marine Corp so that you can toughen you easily offended sensitivities with some real world experience before resuming your college career. Or go back to your Mother and have her sooth your offended feeling because your Drill Sergeant will not.

The choice is yours. You wanted to come here for your higher education. We have no time for spoiled brats and your temper tantrums.

Good luck.

If they had selected those 2000 admissions based on merit, they probably wouldn't be having this problem.

When social engineering is used to convey honor to those who don't deserve it, it's not surprising they think themselves a whole lot better than they are.

"It's some very impressive stuff. But it's not quite Ivy League now is it."
