Imhotep is NOT the Joseph of the Bible. Joseph's Egyptian name was Zaphnathpaaneah (Gen 41:45).
Furthermore, the step pyramid design is identical to that of the Babylonians, and all references to Imhotep in ancient Egypt have no relation whatsoever to Israel, but rather to pagan worship and architecture. Why would Joseph have anything whatsoever to do with such designs, and ones which were perfectly needless for keeping grain, of which he only had seven years to gather and store in vast amounts?
Lastly, the scripture does not mention pyramids of any sort, and simply declares that Joseph held them in the closest cities from whence they were gathered:
Gen 41:48 And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.
Yeah, I know the argument....just trying to show you that there is another side to it and it’s fairly recent. Some expose stuff done by investigative archeology journalists have turned up some interesting stuff, so I keep a open mind. They also explained the Biblical matters you mentioned. I can’t remember all of it so it’s best I don’t try to do that now.
But it’s sufficient to say that I found it fascinating. Especially the timeline. They showed proof of it being some 1200 years off.
If I come across that Netflix show, I mentioned, I will make a note of the title. It’s a few hours of interesting investigative work.
