That professor you mentioned could have had some sway in helping
you gain a scholarship to that Jr. College.
However, that is not the way it works with West Point.
No one is “offered” a scholarship to West Point.
No instructor or professor has the power to “hold a spot” at West Point.
That is not what occurred...
What occurred was a ROTC endorsement which is automatic for the top performer. Ben was that guy.
The ROTC, and the JROTC both have opportunities to obtain a nomination.
